Mid 20s, college degree, single, and have a good job in financials.
I'm just not happy in a 9 to 5. I got accepted in to West Point when I was in high school, but decided against it and I think that was a mistake. I also hate being stuck on the Northshore where I am constantly bored out of my mind.
So what say the OT

With that pedigree, you'll be flying an F22 Raptor in less than a month

If i could do it all over again, I'd go AF right out of high school and would be about to retire

You should look into becoming a plant operator

Navy is the way to go. Seriously though, the AF is great but advancement opportunities are few and far between.

If you are going to do it, do it now. Don't wait until you are 30.
I am 30 and regret not serving, but it would be difficult now (especially since I have a wife and kid), but mostly because I don't want to be a 30 year old 2LT

You wouldn't be alone. One of my best friends was enlisted with me for 12 years then got his commission. He's 33 and a 2LT

I wanted to join the military all my life. If it is ever going to happen, needs to now.

Do it now if you are really are thinking about it. You don't want to be in your 30s wishing you would have joined up when you were younger(I know my husband has this regret)
You are young with no obligations to tie you down to one location ....perfect stage of life to join. Good luck

Done my time and my wife has 22 in the Navy now. She retires in November of 2017 as a Commander (she is also prior enlisted). The Navy has been great and we don't have any complaints whatsoever.
