That's what the Big Green Egg and the gas grill with side burners is for.

Coburn's gave us quotes/prices for a full line of KitchenAid. I'm hesitant because of some bad reviews of the gas cooktop we were looking at.

Bosch

I know about Bosch dishwashers, unaware of their other appliances. We currently have a Kenmore/Bosch dishwasher and aren't happy with it. It doesn't clean well. Maybe it's just a lemon, because we bought it based on how well respected Bosch is.

If you want a really nice luxurious look, and have good high btu burners, and good build design.
Not much will match the burner btu and burner spread of a Thermidor or Viking, but there are great higher end big name branded items. Pretty much any natural gas oven or anything natural gas can be changed to Propane. The igniters are usually designed for both, really just changing the regulators and intake line. So your fuel should not be a problem, just the added expense of needing new parts added to it, or many times you can get the units already with the Propane components.

I would look at Kenmore Elite, GE Profile and even Whirlpool. Each makes some great looking units, and they do their job. I think their pricing is good for the quality level. On the Dishwasher, no mater what color the front panel, I would recommend a stainless steel inner tub.

Any particular features that you want? Things to avoid? Pretty much internally they are the same from one to the other. The differences in most appliances is solely electronics and appearance and 'added features'.

(Except for the Korean, European and New Zealand (F/P) brands, which while nice and functionally superior I'm not sure the higher price is really worth it)

So much info here. I did subscribe to Consumer Reports yesterday(thanks, Al Dante), and it is very informative. The Thermador gas cooktop looked great. We have been considering the GE Cafe series, but also want to investigate other GE lines. Thanks for all the info. Will check things out.

I have the following:
Samsung Refrigerator | Freezer
Whirlpool Gold 5 Burner Gas Cooktop
Kitchen Aid Double Oven
Fisher Paykel Double Drawer
Dishwaster Panasonic Microwave

We also have a Samsung fridge and love it. We chose it because of good experience with Samsung TVs. We saw a Samsung dishwasher and are seriously considering it.

We have a Fisher Paykel washing machine. My husband doesn't love it, not because of any problems with the machine, but the model we bought doesn't have a feature that he likes when he's bleaching whites. (Yeah, he's in charge of bleaching stuff, plus he does all his own laundry.) Personally, it works great for me. I know it's a quality brand of appliance.

Thank you so much for all the effort in posting pictures and brands! I will be checking all of this stuff out. I do love your new kitchen. Great taste!

You previously mentioned that you'd wanted quartzite, but didn't like the steep price. We are currently struggling with this. I found some quartzite I love, but I'm waiting on info from fabricators to see how much the final cost would be with installation. We may have to choose quartz or granite (first world problems).

I went with a 36" dcs range which comes with a free dcs dishwasher, LG counter depth fridge, single wall oven (range has one), and built in microwave for 10k. I like them all so far Eta: all you have to do to change the dcs to propane is turn a knob on the back

I'm not really familiar with DCS, but will read up on it. Thanks.

My husband isn't a BGE guy and we don't currently have a gas grill (die-hard Weber charcoal fan). Because we are getting a propane tank installed, we will likely get a gas grill, so there's that.

I have Viking appliances and they are junk. When they work, they work great but every one of our appliances has been broken at some point. Less than 6 years old.

I had all Bosch appliances in my home in BR before I moved here. Never had a problem at all. I had the electric range, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. When we moved to Colorado the home we bought had 3 year old GE appliances. They were junk. Replaced all of them with Bosch double oven, dishwasher, microwave, and warming drawer. We did go with the Themador 36" gas cooktop instead of the Bosch...even though Bosch and Thermador are the same company. I like the even heat distribution, higher BTU's , and xtra low simmer of the star burners on the Thermador. We've been very happy with them.

Just a note if you're considering Kitchenaid appliances. I have 2 neighbors that have had problems with their Kitchenaid appliances, including multiple repairs. Kitchenaid is nothing more than a glorified Whirlpool appliance. Maytag, Whirlpool, Amana and Kitchenaid are all the same company.

You beat me to it. I don't know what to think about reliability with any of these manufacturers anymore. They don't make money (or as much money) if we don't keep re-buying their products every so often. They stopped offering anything beyond a one or two year warranty, and they leave it the retailer to offer you to buy and extended warranty.

When we upgraded our kitchen a few years ago, we paid more for upscale line of whatever's brand of microwave. It went out in a year. Had it repaired for about $200, but it's a $400 microwave.

TL, DR: it's a crapshoot, but I have been very satisfied with Maytag washers, dishwashers, and ice box. That's right, I said ice box.

Darla, keep us posted.

Viking has gone downhill in recient years from what I have heard. But any brand can have issues. I had kenmore elite for the whole kitchen and washer dryer and every one broke more than once. In my new house we went thermador. If you need it all they have a pretty good sale going on. That's what we did because I needed the whole kitchen.

Doesn't pay to buy an "upscale" microwave. The majority of them are made in China nowadays anyway. The most common problem with them is the magnetron going out on them. When that happens it's almost always cheaper to get a new one than having it repaired.

Exactly. It's either the magnetron or the diode that fails, no matter the brand.

I'm told that some of the fridge companies are sourcing their compressors from South America because it's cheaper, but also less reliable. You shouldn't have to be repairing a 2-3k fridge bought brand new within 5 yrs, but many are.

Fridge: Amana, freezer on top. Really impressed me when we had a power outage during the summer with temps at 100 outside and rose to 88 inside over 24 hours. When power came on I expected a mess. Everything was cold.

Dishwasher: Kitchen Aid. Very long washing cycle but very quiet. Also no need for pre wash. It takes care of gunk.

Stove: G.E. Electric Glass Top. I had gas for most of my life. Will never go back. Electric is clean, easy to learn how to coast when cooking. Took me about 10 minutes. Might take most people a day or two.

I have some POS Whirlpool smooth top range. It's the worst thing I've ever cooked on. Good thing is it's only for a year I have to cook on it, but man, it sucks. Takes forever to heat up and cool down. Temperature is impossible to regulate. Impossible to clean without breaking out some razor blades. The oven portion is decent, but the stove top is my enemy.
