How convenient that Archie Manning was part of the committee that decided these rankings and just so happened to step down before this comes out for "medical reasons". You can't convince me that these guys aren't using their bias towards their former teams to influence these rankings

It definitely puts suspicion on the process because, quite simply, Ole Miss is not the 4th best team in the country. Probably more like 10th.

I've said it before Archie Manning at work. he hates LSU. I know he's not at the meeting because of surgery but the telephone still work.

Let's say that's true, and I tend to agree with it. What do you do with Bama?

We won't know how accurate or correct the process is until the end of the season. There are still 3 games, for every team that matters, to play and most conferences still have their respective championship games so a lot will shake out by the end of the season.
The jury is still out until that time. Personally they should've waited until the end of the season to pick the teams much like the selection process for the NCAA tournament.
No system is perfect and there will always be some issue of another.
Focus on the games in front of you. Win those games. Get into the playoffs.

If LSU had been undefeated and Ole miss had upset them in Tiger Stadium. LSU would have been dropped from 3 to 13. Just saying !

I'm not surprised. The whole point of the playoff was to keep the SEC out of the National Championship. And give some undefeated or 1 loss team from a dogshit conference a chance to play for the title.

If the BCS decided the playoff, there would be 3 SEC teams in it. Leaving it open for an all SEC national championship. But that isn't "fair" because (insert mediocre conference team) tried so hard and beat a #23 ranked team.
Then, over time, maybe those animals in the SEC will lose recruits to the rest of the country because that's what it's all about, weakening the SEC.

Say what you want about Obama. At least you can make a case for him being on the basketball selection committee or even Bush being on the baseball selection committee. Her opinion I guess is just to see whose alumni makes the largest political donation.

The bottom line is: What you have deciding these rankings are a bunch of suits and ties, most of whom couldn't get a date.....but they have money and influence, so they are gathered into a little club where they get to dictate, like they dictate EVERYTHING else ( which they are very good at) the entire outcome of an entire college football season......when it is extremely clear that they don't know shite about college football, rankings, or the SEC.

And us as sheep and measly peons, well, we're supposed to talk about who wonderful these dirty, filthy, lying , snakes are, and how so very hard they worked to make their decisions.

I'm surprised that Mary Landrieu wasn't thrown into the mix, but there's always next year.

Classic case of Government being put in positions where it does not belong.....has no business in,,,so it can be wrapped in bureaucratic red tape, obliterated, politicized, trampled and ruined forever. Just like everything else they get their hands in.

My questions is how is Ole Miss so #4? LSU gave them every chance to win the game last week. As much as it hurts to say this Ole Miss should have won and won big, but they chocked. It's what Ole Miss does. This committee just lost all credibility in my book. They might as well appoint the ebola czar as their next chairman because this this is just about for show.

And? We got our fricking dicks pushed in in those 2 losses. IDGAF what their rankings are...it doesn't change how we got beat. Win out and the ranking will take care of themselves.

Same here except for being below the okies. Don't see that at all.

For those that choose to be optimists instead of miserable douches... We do not control our own destiny but winning the SEC is possible and no way the winner of the SEC does not earn a spot in the CFP. So you cannot say LSU does not have a shot

LSU wins the SEC-W outright and earns a spot in SECCG aganst a top 4 Georgia team if:

1. LSU -- wins out.
2. MSST -- Loses to Bama and Ole Miss
3. Ole Miss -- Loses to Auburn, beats MSST.
4. Bama -- Beats MSST and Auburn
5. Auburn -- Beats Ole Miss, Loses to Georgia and Alabama

Not one of those results is anywhere near far fetched.

They could not Rank BAMA above Ole Miss due to the simple fact that they beat BAMA. If LSU beats BAMA, realistically they should be ranked ahead of a 2 loss BAMA team that they beat. They Also would have beaten the other Team that Beat BAMA. With these current rankings i find that hard to believe.

With these current rankings it is Possible for LSU, OLE MISS, and BAMA to all have 2 losses and LSU being ranked behind both of them even though they would have beaten both of them
