if harris grasps the playbook this spring and summer, he SHOULD stat next year, and be very VERY good.
No way Miles starts Harris over Jennings next year with the experience Jennings is getting this year in big games and Lsu wins. (Thanks Defense). If the Defense continues to play like they are and we win out, Jennings will be starter for next 2 yrs.
If this happens I believe Harris will work through Spring and see this and decide to go elsewhere . He is saying all the right things now but these kids have one thing in mind, play ball and get to nfl.

Hi DJ,
Point is that if Miles believed Harris would be the guy next year and he needs to gain experience you would have seen him in the Kentucky game earlier. At least a series here and there when you were up 31-0. not wait till last 3 minutes.

Yeah, just like Welter, Jennings really couldn't stand to get some meaningful reps himself in an SEC game what with 7 career starts and all to hang his hat on.

I am just hoping Harris doesn't transfer to another SEC school.

I don't see him transferring

Agreed. Next spring he will spring to the top and Jennings will be a capable backup for two years.

Find me ANYTHING in Miles history to indicate that ANYONE BUT Jennings will start and/or play any significant time/role for us until he graduates. ANYTHING.
Not speculation or not your preference or not your opinion on what SHOULD HAPPEN - I am talking about ANY ACTUAL DECISION OR ACTION.
Each game AJ10 gets experience, further entrenches Miles to rationalize him as the better option. The remainder of this season will SURELY mean that AJ10 gets all the starts and meaningful playing time, unless we get way up on Arky or TAMU, or if AJ10 gets injured.
Baring these circumstances, going into next year, Miles we see the following, REGARDLESS OF THE SPRING GAME OR ANY OTHER CONSIDERATION (BARRING COLLAPSE OR INJURY), AJ10 will have 13 starts to 1 bad start/outing for Harris.
Then, next year will only increase the comparative experience, and with the stacked team we will have, the play-it-safe AJ10 formula is likely to result in him being successful and grow further entrenched as the starter.
NO WAY Miles does anything but start AJ10 for the rest of his time at LSU, unless he REALLY tanks or gets injured.
Look at JJ9 for all the evidence you need.
Harris is toast, no matter what he tweets.
I hate saying that as much as he will hate hearing it, but once again, there is NO EVIDENCE that allows any other reasonable conclusion on the matter.

It's too bad we burned his red-shirt.
Hindsight is 20/20 I suppose.

. He was probably the best lsu QB anyone on this board has ever seen play here.
There is no probably. In 2006 he set the passing td record while also setting the single season completion % record as well. I know JRUSS did nothing in the NFL, but his 2006 season at LSU was the best season for an lsu qb , ever. There are a few lsu qbs with better career numbers and accolades but none touch his 2006 season.

Could you use some more CAPS in your post please?

FACT!
Unless Jennings shows some major improvement, or Harris slacks off and doesn't develop, I expect Harris to be the starter next year.

This is based on nothing. Miles has always played the better qb. Even in 2011 JJ was playing great until he went up against 2 top 5 defenses. I think some of the posters on this site are under the impression that JLEE was head and shoulders above JJ and that just wasn't the case. Both qbs had strengths and weaknesses. JLEE'S weakness was not being able to handle the blitz well. When the pocket around him became muddy, he was a horrible qb. When it stayed clean , he was very efficient. JJ's weakness was anytime the pocket got muddy, he dropped his eyes from downfield. Miles knew both of these weaknesses and IMO he felt that if the pocket got bad at least JJ could make something happen with his feet even if it meant he was sacrificing a couple dozen passing yards a game.
By no means am i saying these were their only weaknesses but these were the 2 biggest for each.

Russell had a higher completion percentage, more TDs, and more yards, but Mett had a higher Passer Rating and a significantly higher YPA by over 1.2 YPA.
Both had truly outstanding seasons in their final year.

Thank you. Both of those guys were average at best.
