Some back story. Wilson's parents were Ivy League. Therefore, they hung out with whites and stressed academic excellence. Very few gangstas at Harvard.
Wilson continued through college to hang out with whites and make good grades and now he's getting the treatment from some of his black team mates.
Same thing happened with Tiger Woods. He only associated with whites at Stanford and married the whitest woman on earth. Jet Magazine ripped him for denying his blackness. He insisted on calling himself mixed...Cablanasian.
His advisers said "Tiger, if you want to keep getting millions of dollars in endorsements...you have to be black." He has since had no problem referring to himself as black. Money talks.

Anthony Gargano and Rob Ellis,” Barkley was asked about a rumor that Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was getting criticism from his black teammates for not being, quote, “black enough.”
Was listening to the Michael Pags show Sunday and he was talking about this. Apparently part of the reason Percy Harvin was traded from the Seahawks to the Jets is because he was causing problems in the locker room trying to get other black players on his side against Wilson because he isn't black enough!

There needs to be more prominent black men of stature to come out and support this kind of message. The "thug" mentality is destroying the black community.
There is.

How long before TBS fires him for not being PC? (Not that he ever was and they should have known that when they hired him)

clearly, from race pimping to "govt privilege' being black is big business. If Tiger can sell jeri-curl then more power to him.

That makes since, fricking your own super bowl QB probably isn't the smartest thing, harvin probably would have gotten Obama to dis his success.
'He didn't win that...'

Can not stop upvoting. Barkley is correct!

I don't have the time or inclination to explain it to you, especially since I doubt that this is a serious question, but just a rhetorical one.

Charles Barkley says some dumb things, because he speaks his mind and all of us think some stupid things from time to time.
Charles Barkley also says some incredibly intelligent and thoughtful things. This is one of those times. Blacks can be their own worst enemy as a culture and more successful and intelligent members of that community need to find a way to turn things around. I wish them the best of luck.

the reason I said "little more than not being white" is because it's basically true...
"blackness" imparts a special class status on you that more or less shields you from any criticism from black society and often leftist/progressive pop society, look at the recent NFL shenanigans, if these guys hitting women weren't wearing the NFL logo they wouldn't be in any trouble at all.
"smak a bich down"... yea that's ok..
"nig ga gotta do what a nig ga gotta do"... excuse enough for most.
what's better than living in a "free" society with no real expectation of responsibility or accountability? the problem of course is this just isn't a sustainable scenario, but as long as politics and pop culture can make a living off of it, WHO THE FUK CARES.. RIGHT!
If I were president I would make Barkely and Cosby my "race relation" csars.. straiten those mofos' in the hood out..

Only a small percentage ignorant Black folks care about other people's Blackness, while most Black folks only care about the Blackness of themselves and their kids.
I asked about "blackness" in response to this statement and because I'm fortunate enough to live in a very nice neighborhood. We have many black families in there and see most of them out doing their lawn walking their dogs, etc.
I'm not sure I've witnessed them doing anything "black." They just do the things normal people do. When dude is out cutting his grass, one hand isn't holding up his pants. When he walks his dog, it isn't some fight marred up pit bull, it's a little furry yapper that would sit on your Aunt Martha's tit at Thanksgiving. Although his wife does drive a Cadillac, it's not sporting 28" rims or blaring rap music. His beverage of choice after cutting said grass seems to be Miller Lite, not Colt 45.
If "most black folk only care about the Blackness of themselves" and none of the blacks in my neighborhood are doing what Sir Charles explained; WTH is "blackness?"
