A local state rep candidate was on a talk show here this morning and just raked over the coals by the callers because she didn't just fall in line with the Democratic party line.

Her classic response to each one of "we've been doing it this way for 50 years and it's not working, why not try something different? They had no response to her for that except piss and vinegar.

I don't get it.

Because when someone questions your belief system, you defend it until death.

Even if the facts are true like "We've been doing it this way...", most people are too emotionally attached to their beliefs that they cannot change.

Which is sad because the more intelligent blacks in the community realize they are just being used by Democrats as a meal ticket with the majority being too stubborn to change.

Same reason nothing changes in their communities.

Not until a REAL leader comes along and refocuses their attention will they change.

Democrats view any black person who doesn't automatically vote for them as a runaway slave who needs to be captured, brought back to the plantation, and flogged in front of everyone.

Deny it if you want, democrats, but in your cold hearts, you know it's true.

I suppose it is a racist perspective in that it places emphasis on race itself. The critics view symbolic support of the first black president to be more important than ideas or individual autonomy in political decision-making or perspective-forming.

Very narrow-minded. And I say this as a liberal.

I reject the premise of the question. There may be a small percentage of Black locksteppers who take offense at Black folks who don't tow the Democratic line, but those folks would take that position regardless of who was in the White House.

Has anyone asked why whites who don't toe the conservative line are assumed to be filled with white guilt?

The southern white male votes in a bloc as solid as blacks if not more.
