Drew Brees needs to tell people to R-E-L-A-X.

that worked REALLY well for Rodgers.

Well technically he's right. We're only 1 back in the division. Even if we lose, Carolina is playing a desperate Seattle team this week, and Atlanta is playing Detroit in London. There is a very good chance both of them lose and we are still only one game back.

But you don't really want to hear that from the leader of the team at 2-4. That's the kind of stuff fans should be telling themselves.

And there's the problem.. our leader is content where they're at right now. Rather than thinking every game is critical and a "must-win" he's just sitting comfortably in 2nd within the division.

That fire and drive from 2009 is noticeably gone.

I love Drew and all but his post-game comments need to stop. Last Monday, when asked about the interception and blown lead he responded with, "winning in the NFL is hard."

The Packers might be the best team we play all season.

If this is a must win, then every game is a must win.

Did you actually read what he said?

quote:

"There's no must-win games until they're must-win games," Brees said Wednesday, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "It's important. It's really important, but nobody needs that kind of pressure."

It's a must win because if we start dropping home games we are in a really bad spot

Two things:

If he says it is a must win, does that mean we play better?

If he says it is a must win, and then we lose, what message does that send to team rest of season?

He knows it is a must win, losing at home would solidify the meltdown that is this season. But he isn't going to say it is must win publicly, because the team doesn't need any more pressure.

Drew, you're 2-4 and you have very high expectations for this year. You bet your third nut this is a must-win game.

He's right. Carolina game is way more important than Packers game.

Way more. Like 3 times more.

If we beat Green Bay and lose to Carolina it's a disaster and our odds of winning the division are like 10%*

If we lose to Green Bay and beat Carolina our odds of winning the division are like 45%*

* - these stats pulled out of my arse but based on educated guesstimates and Kentucky windage

They're not. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to see the division go 0-4 this Sunday.

Yes, indeed he is. When he came to New Orleans, and thought he could win a Super Bowl is when the delusions started, if you ask me.

He's a father of four with millions in the bank. He can be what he wants to be. To me he's lost a little fire and is trending downward. Still better than many but not what he was.
