Tyreke Evans, who excelled during the second half of last season in a starting role, will make his preseason debut in tonight’s Western Conference matchup.

“I’m going to try to go,” Evans said this morning after the Pelicans’ shootaround.

Initially projected to be out 3-5 weeks after a late-September right hamstring strain, Evans was able to accelerate that timetable.

“I healed up fast,” the sixth-year guard/forward said. “(It was a result of) me just taking care of my body, getting treatment and doing the right things I needed to, to help me get better.”

Evans will be using his game action Thursday to gauge his progress in his return from injury.

... Eric Gordon is doubtful due to lower back spasms.

Jesus Christ... I always believed that injury prone was one of the most overused terms in sports, but this guy is just made of glass.

I heard tyreke once tore his acl in the first quarter of a game and then fricked around and got a triple double in the second half

I don't know about that. In my experiences, glass has an "injury" maybe once a year at best in my house, and many of those injuries are on my car, which is able to fight through the injury for a long time while performing at a high level.

I think you're offending glass by comparing it to EG.

Hopefully it just means he's been working his arse off and is taking a break because he can because it's the preseason.

If he did, would he still count against the cap?

Pelicans SF Tyreke Evans will play tonight vs OKC. Says eating right all off season helped his hamstring injury heal faster. @ErinDebaillon

You hear that Eric?

It damn well better, I'm tired of us paying him for very little return.

I am sure we could find a way to amnesty him away, Write the EG rule " to waive the salary cap impact of a player whom: shows no interest in playing, can't behave, or is medically unable to continue to play at a high level." Silver should embrace the opportunity to get rid of Employees who don't want to be there.

we need to send him to yoga, It'll loosen and strengthen him up.. Plus he'd feel comfy and empowered in his yoga pants.

Wolvereke is BACK BABY!!!

I'm going to irrationally hope that Gordon is sitting out simply because it's preseason and 0 fricks given.

Actually, yoga would not be good for him. Back spasms + yoga = bed rest.
