Miss. State just won't be able to recruit on the level he wants for foreseeable future.

I dunno about that. If he stays he should have an easy time--he's proven he can win there and MSU is the new hotness.

I can see a big time program poaching him but recruiting won't be the reason.

Sharing the state is one thing. Sharing the state with a team looking to win the National championship every year is another.

Wasn't that long ago UF and FSU were in flip flopped positions. UF is a Giant in a Coma.

They went to a BCS bowl 2 years ago and there's plenty talent there. It's not as good a situation as Urban walked into but a good coach will win there immediately.

Mullen caught lighting in a bottle this year with 22 upperclassmen and Dak playing out of his mind. His previous 5(?) years have been crap.

He should strike while the iron is hot and take a big time job. I think if UF wants him, he's gone fast as hell.

MooState doesn't have the money, facilities, tradition, stadium, or recruiting to sustain this.

Didn't Miami and UF share the state for a while when they were both pretty successful?

If mullen hadn't taken the job at state to leave Florida, they would have fired him. The boosters hated both mullen and addazio... I seriously doubt mullen goes back.. But stranger things have happened I guess.

This. Especially the bold part.

If he gets offered by UF and he has to think twice about it, he should ger some advice from Gene Chizik.

If he wins them an SEC championship (their first since 1941 & 2nd overall).... and/or a national championship (their first)....

He can set up shop from now until the apocalypse and MissState won't ever touch him.

Notice that UF fans don't start this thread.

There's no credible source that I know of that indicates the Foley wants Mullen.

MSU fans claim that Mullen doesn't like pressure. If he's scared of pressure, then UF is not for him.

Whoever said Foley is on the way out is goofy as hell. Only our fringe loons who only care about football ever say that. He'll retire from UF at the time of his choice.

Both Adzavido (sp) and Mullen have done better job than Boom. Your boosters are nuts for running them out

No doubt UF has a strong athletic program. They are usually good in all 3 major sports, and they carry some talent in a lot of the other sports.
Foley is fine.

It is a tough situation to consider for Mullen.
He can stay at state FOREVER making ~$2-3M.
Or....
He can try his hand at Florida, potentially make ~$4-5M, but would have an uncertain long-term future.

The pressure to win constantly is a lot for anyone to bear. Saban is feeling it at Bama. Miles is feeling it at LSU. CUM left UF b/c of the pressure.
Fan bases get spoiled to winning. So just because it is a high-profile job, it doesn't mean that it is a desirable job.

It really comes down to what he wants in life. Does he want the money, glory, fame, pressure, chance to be one of the best coaches in college football at Florida?
Or does he enjoy what he has at State?

Meh, most of these coaches have huge egos. They live for this crap.

Mullen is not going to be offered the job anyway. This is all silly.

Eh, if Stoops goes anywhere it'll be up north. He likes the proximity to Ohio being pretty firmly rooted there. And I doubt he'd jump this soon anyway unless it's a bigger job than Florida.
