For home defense. Compact and simple enough for a woman to use?
I'm about to pull the trigger on it.

A smith can be had for $40 more I believe.
It's worth the little bit of extra coin IMO. A no lock 642 should be easy to find in the $400 range. Taurus =\= smith quality

You're never going to actually need it, so it doesn't really matter.

I have that exact gun. I love it. I think i paid around 340 for it. I believe my uncle bought one also, after shooting mine. The only thing you may want to consider is if you will be CC, you may want to go hammerless.

I don't understand why people think these small, lightweight revolvers are great for women. Felt recoil increases as firearm mass decreases. Unless you're going to conceal carry it, buy a full framed revolver in the same caliber.

Get ready for a horrible 10 lb. trigger...
Ruger GP or SP revolver or a S&W K frame would be a much better choice.

Get a 642. Don't fool with a hammer when dealing with women

Got the same gun. Mine was handed down, made in America. I love it. Only pistol I own. I keep 6 hollow points in it. Boom!!! is the sound it makes.
