Is Cassidy really the best we can come up with in Louisiana these days?

Good grief. He was painful to watch.

Scales and Boustany didn't want to run. Jindal wants white house, not the senate, and I don't meet the age requirement, haha

I didn't watch it but I don't need a silver tongue in a debate to represent me, just the person who most closely votes they way I would.

Exactly. I swear people want their politicians to be entertainers.

Reality TV. It has dumbed down our society immeasurably.

Cassidy is a good man, who is right on most of the issues, as far as I'm concerned.
We have an empty suit in the WH, and a woman in the Senate who votes consistently against the wishes of the her constituents.
No thanks to that. I want a Senator, not an American Idol contestant.

Make no mistake, Cassidy is entertaining. Put him in a haunted house and he'd be the star attraction.

He looks a bit like Charlie Sheen in that pic.

Looks influence your vote?

That former GF of Kermit the Frog he's running against isn't exactly any prize herself.

The problem is, much of the job of being a senator is communicating ideas and persuading people to believe in your vision. If someone can't talk to the people, how can they possibly expect to win the battle of ideas against those who have made it their careers to spew bullshite. A candidate can't just have the right ideas, they must also have the ability to translate those ideas into actions, not only from themselves, but also by their contemporaries on capital hill.

Public speaking ability does not correlate to interpersonal skills. Look at Obama, the great public speaker who cannot actually deal with people in Washington.
Posted on 10/14/14 at 8:42 pm to Jwho77
I think Obama can work with people, he just doesn't want to because he really doesn't have to. Obama has no desire nor any incentive to compromise because he knows the media will consistently cast his opinion as "on the right side of history" and that if he holds his line long enough and if the media ones their job, he will eventually get most of what he wants without having to give up anything.

Please. Obama could have accomplished much more if he had any desire to sit down and work with Congress. He has no desire because he doesn't really want to put in the work and compromise. He really cannot work with people, or he would at least try to do it during all those rounds of golf.

This issue has reached epidemic proportions. What has it gotten us?

It's embarrassing. He's so bad that the thought has crossed my mind that maybe. . . just maybe. . . Mary's n. . . Nah, I can't even bring myself to say it.
But he's terrible.
But he's terrible.

Yeah, yeah we get it - you said basically the same thing 12 days ago:
"Even as a conservative, I've decided to not vote for him. I could never vote for Landrieu, but I can't in good conscience vote for someone who seems so ignorant.
He is not the person I want representing me on a national level. I would be embarrassed."
Can we look forward to a similar post on October 26th?
edit:
Oh good Lord, guess we won't have to wait until the 26th, I just saw in another thread you went the "embarrass" route still again:
"He is horrible. I'll abstain before I vote to have that man represent our state. It's an embarrassment."

NHTIGER,
Give us the latest on the Senate race in NH.
I still see Brown has some ground to cover. Is there enough time and what's his chances?
