Has he been playing left back? Because that's what we need.

When he last was called in in that Scotland friendly (last December?), I think he was exclusively playing RB for Forest. Not sure what he is doing now.

Looks like LD is going to get 30 minutes before coming off – no surprise there: LINK

Also, shocker to no one, this was Sunil's idea, not JK's: LINK

Donovan was asked if the send-off match would never have happened without Gulati’s efforts and Donovan seemed to think that was the case. “I don’t know for sure,” Donovan said. “But I’d say that’s a safe assumption.”

I'm glad Donovan and JK have moved past their differences like the adults they are.

Everyone has players on the national team they don't like or think they should be there.

esp for the fact Wondo took LD's spot which upset me very much.

Wondo's last match should have been Belgium. Calling him up now serves no purpose. He's too old to be of any use in qualifiers, he's not good enough for our upcoming cup matches, his experience in a US shirt does not warrant any sort of send off, and he's shown no ability to help any of the younger players. Calling him up now is useless and wasteful.

I'm not even a wondo fan, and I agree with most of what you're saying, but there is no possible way for you to know this. The guy has incredible movement. There is a reason he's such a good poacher (not finisher). I'm sure the younger players can learn from him.

And there's no way to know how he works in practice.

He may be there to push others by how hard he works.

People don't think Frankie Hejduk kept getting selected for years for his amazing on-field skill, right?

It still makes me sad the DMB did not get called in for Landy's last game.

Great swan song for both. I agree.

He probably would have turned it down, tonight's game in Toronto and at home on Sunday are more important.

I'm thinking that's why Wondo got called in more than anything. San Jose is out of the playoff race so theres no risk in bringing him in.
