That means it's really a 8 gun safe.

Are look looking for a real safe or a safe to keep your kids from messing with the guns when you aren't home?

I have this safe. Works as expected but much smaller than what you would think. All I can fit is about 7-8 rifles/shotguns and about 5 pistols. It also would be nice to have a light inside.

My first thought was 5-6 long guns.

Read this website:

The safe you are looking at probably provides very little protection against a real thief.

Get a Amsec BF series. It has concrete poured walls and comes with some cool extra features for a little extra money.

Much better made and better looking safe than most of these others in my opinion

If you have the money to spend i really like the liberty Fat Boy series. A friend of mine just got one and it is a pretty nice safe and has 64 gun storage.

Or you could get the amsec HS series 7450. It holds 60-70 guns and weighs around 6,840 lbs

Someone posted a link on here recently which walked you though things using their perspective.
I went with a higher fire rating since I feel security is not an issue, get something twice as large as you think you need.

Get the Liberty Fatboy as previously recommended. I have the 48 gun version. Great safe. Well worth the money.
