Worst AG ever.

An embarrassment to the United States and the Constitution.

He's finally resigning.

Courts have held that police have no reasonable expectation of privacy while performing their duties in public. Douchebag cops should learn that. Maybe if they had to personally pay a civil penalty for false arrest they'd figure it out.

Both people in this video suck so much.

Cops a douche on a power trip.

Guy filming sounds like a ball-less man who was filming the cop just so he could catch something and put it on youtube. The arrest he was filming wasn't even interesting

If you know that filming a cop is going to get you into an altercation. Whether its legal or not; your putting you and your kids in a bad spot.

If the same thing were said about filming thugs, would you still feel the same way?

Even if that were true, would he have had anything to put on YouTube if the officer had simply continued his duty and ignored the guy who was 30+ feet away...in no way messing with his investigation?

Nope.

While the filming party was certainly a spineless weasel in the way he acted after the cop went full douche mode, he was being quiet and was in no way hindering him previously to the cop deciding it was a problem. If we were talking about guys who purposefully go out of their way to show police they are filming and intentionally antagonize them, I'd agree that they are assholes...but even they, so long as they are inside the letter of the law, ought to be treated fairly.

And look...I think this about most jobs. If merely having someone watching you sets you off to the point of rage, then MAYBE you ought to be in a different line of work. And in the case of LEO's, a line of work that does not potentially allow you to threaten or shoot people for merely angering you.

Cop encounters two teenagers parked in an abandoned gravel driveway. He of course draws his weapon like he is in a fricking war zones. Treats the kids like animals and even threatens to unload led into them if they don't stop talking. Basically, the cop acts like a psychopath. Manages to get them for having some marijuana and of course, resisting arrest.

The resisting arrest charged got dropped because the video evidence showed the cop was the aggressor the entire time. The cop kept telling the little girl that he will hurt her, he will shoot her, etc.

I'm genuinely curious - can you file a restraining order against a peace officer?

What has typically been the award when the people (who are unconstitutionally arrested) sue the police for unlawful arrest?

The police call it "detaining" so to them it's no harm no foul, and no paperwork. He detained the guy for silently recording and if questioned, the cop will simply say it was for officer safety/he felt threatened.

Dude should have just got in his car, closed the door and locked the locks. Then, if the big old meanie cop wants to do something stupid, he would have had a great video and a case to file against the police dept.

BTW - what was with the dude saying he wanted three forms of identification from the cop? WTF?
