I watched United 93 on Netflix

I had surprisingly never seen this movie despite it being out for 8 years.
It was so much better and more intense than I thought. It was really hard to watch at times and my heart rate was up the whole movie. There was no character development, no love story, no feel good moments..I don't even think you learn any of the passengers' names. Just the horrific events unfolding at the pace they happened that day. You see people who don't know each other unite together and in 10 minutes decide they need to attack in a desperate attempt to get control of the plane. It's difficult to watch because we all know how it ends...but they fought bravely and brutally to the last second.
10/10, a must watch, will watch again

saw it in theaters, it's powerful, well done...and it's a movie I'll never watch again.

It's a fantastic film and I really like the way the filmed it. Youre right about the tone and feel. I think they did that on purpose.

I rented it, feel the exact same way.

Pretty much a helpless feeling
Knowing your going to die
Might as well do what you can to save the intending target once they got wind of what was going on
Even if they got control of plane who would've landed it

I just can't bring myself to watch this or any 9/11 movies. I would end up being a ...ahem...sobbing mess.
9/11 to this day angers me to a degree that I cannot comprehend or control.

Yeah, this movie was really good. I actually liked it a lot better than the Nic Cage 9/11 movie. Paul Greengrass directed it & he sure knows how to make an intense movie.

It's great bc there aren't any high-priced actors or commercialized bullshite.
It's the most thoughtful and reverent account of 9/11 as far as movies go.

In the movie at least, one of the passengers flew single engine planes and another guy used to work ATC. So their plan was to have those guys behind the attack brigade, then wrestle the controls from the terrorist pilots, then get the trained pilot in the seat. It was a farfetched idea but at least they thought they had a chance.

My thoughts exactly. It's possible they were a little weary of doing that, because to do so would imply they were capitalizing on the tragedy.

Based on survivor testimony...Right...

Don't be a jackass. The black box indicates they invaded the cabin. Of course they had to make some suppositions about the passengers' interactions with each other.

All of that. I likely will watch it again one day, but I remember seeing it in theaters and after it just abruptly ends and fades to black, the whole theater was silent, and I remember thinking "What an awesome movie, but it will be a long time before I see it again." And you don't really have to see it again. As weird as it sounds, it's that powerful that you don't need to.
But I will at some point, and I'm sure I will react the same way again.

As close to a perfect movie as you can make IMO.
Call it the dumbass wannabe badass in me, but I remember reading accounts of that flight and being sure I would have done something to stop the hijack. When I watched that movie I was absolutely scared frozen. I could barely blink.
They captured all the terror, shock, and fear I can only imagine those people felt. Incredible movie.

Good lord, I refuse to watch any 9/11 movie at all, let alone rewatch. Too depressing, too recent, too real.

What in the motherfrick is wrong with that black, charred bit of inert matter where your heart used to be? You worthless sack of shite.
So let's focus on that black, charred bit of inert matter that currently resides in your head. You do know that Paul Greengrass did impeccable research utilizing text messages, the control tower, various FAA officials and official recordings etc. Not to mention research and interviews with the family of the dead and research on the specific backgrounds of various hijackers.
The evidence suggests that what is portrayed in the film actually occurred within a reasonable approximation. Of course, what sentient being would criticize a film maker for taking artistic license where needed with a story so important to American history? As you prove, there is always an a-hole with an agenda, who has confused healthy skepticism with being an antagonistic frickwad.
But anyhow, seriously-go frick yourself. America thanks you in advance.

Watching the ground come up through the cockpit while the struggle goes on with the grunting and screaming is some draining shite when the screen goes black. The fact that none of the actors are recognizable is important.
