Costco > Sam's, and unlike Sam's, availability has been reliable.
Every time I go into Sam's they have at least 30 chickens up and they refresh them all day. Calandro's was the first place I remember doing them, but they are like $8, small, and usually overcooked now. I get one from Sam's every time I'm there.

Depends.

Paying less for an already cooked chicken is easier than cooking a chicken. Sorry.

Huh?
Again, your shtick is tired.

I buy chickens at 99 a pound
4lbs and about 30 cents of energy cheaper
Store bought have tooooo much sodium

So... you saved 70 cents and had to put forth effort cooking and cleaning?

I also enjoy how it tastes more than the overly salty store pnes

I paid $8 for one this afternoon at Kroger. By the time I season it, cook it for 90 minutes and then turn down the A/C because the kitchen is hot, I feel like I got my money's worth.
Yeah they're salty, but they sure are tasty! My wife will still add salt to it (she's one of those that adds salt to a salt lick). I don't mind a little extra salt every now and then.

And for $4.99, I cannot complain about price. The things weigh like 5 lbs.

You still haven't told us which ROTISSERIE chicken you like best which is what the topic of the thread was in the first place.

nobody beats the rotisserie chickens from calypso cafe here in nashville..but they're small and you'll overpay if you're getting one to go
i used to love le madeline's rotisserie chickens but since there's not a le madeline here in town i haven't had one in years.

I'm sure it's a YMMV thing, but I gave up on the Sam's at Siegen after coming home chickenless twice after 4-5 PM. They weren't even cooking a fresh batch. This was over at least a three month period within the last year or two. They had been reliable before that.

I think they stop cooking them in the late afternoon and that's a problem with Sam's. You have to go earlier in the day. Otherwise, they are loaded with them or taking fresh ones out when I'm there. They only allow them to sit about 3 hours, I believe. They've very good. I haven't had Costco, but they beat the regular grocery stores by miles and there's a lot of bang for your buck, there.
I eat some of the skin. I crisp it up like a chip sometimes after I scrape any thick fat off. And, I eat it off the wings, too. All chicken wings must be eaten with skin or don't eat them.

What exactly is a rotesseri anyways? Crockpot has similar method with heat from all sides slow just like rotesseri. Only difference is its not rotating on a spit
Not really a big diff

I like them out of the new wave oven.
Sams is my favorite followed by Rouses Creole Butter

It is very apparent you rode the short bus to school.

Anyone else have a problem with undercooked chicken from Sam's?
Not exaggerating to say I have had 4 out of 5 semi-raw chickens. So raw it was hard to even cut the pieces apart.
Seems like it is just me but damn if I have had some miserable luck with Sams which is why I have only tried about 5 times over the years even though they look great.

I've bought a lot of them, but never had that issue. Maybe it's just the Sam's where you go.
