Celexa and most all of the medications in its class have a very short half life and if you are taking them for an extended period of time, can cause a serotonin withdrawal. Most all of your symptoms sound similar to that.
Your doctor would be the best source of information but I would recommend you go back on the prior dose for a week and then decrease the dose by 25% of the dose every 2 weeks until you are off.
Or you can choose to "wait it out" and it will eventually resolve.
Good Luck.

Probably already said, but you shouldn't stop taking most anti-depressants cold turkey. You usually have to taper off them.

Get counseling if you need it.
Stop getting medicated just to get medicated. Unless you are thinking about shooting up a school and/or killing yourself, you don't need antidepressants.
All of these recommendations are good, but depression is a true clinical condition in many cases. People who say "just be happy" or "get over it" are simply wrong and just make things worse.

I recently stopped taking Celexa cold turkey.
Why the heck would you do this? These kind of drugs alter your brain state, hell I accidentally put my anxiety meds in a place where I couldn't get to them for a little over a week and I was a wreak.

Very normal
You should've titrated. And a weaker ad like Prozac will stop them and you won't get them when you get off the Prozac

Dude, wtf
It has nothing to do with diet. And it doesn't take a month. Maybe a week for Effexor and it's the worst

Don’t use 5-HTP until more is known. 5-HTP might be UNSAFE. Some people who have taken it have come down with eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome (EMS), a serious condition involving extreme muscle tenderness (myalgia) and blood abnormalities (eosinophilia). Some people think the EMS might be caused by an accidental ingredient (contaminant) in some 5-HTP products. But there is not enough scientific evidence to know if EMS is caused by 5-HTP, a contaminant, or some other factor. Until more is known, avoid taking 5-HTP.

I don't know about Celexa. Is it a mild benzo? Withdrawal from benzos, like alcohol withdrawal, can literally kill you.
As has been said, cold turkey is a bad idea.

No, it's not seizures and anti depressants and anti epileptics are nothing alike
God people are idiots. Op you should've done this under your doctor's supervision
No, Artie not a benzo. It's an ssri

Half of the seizure meds are also used to treat people like yourself. Look it up nutjob
Posted on 9/24/14 at 4:50 pm to Hammertime
I didn't say they weren't. I'm fully aware. I've taken almost every anti epileptic
I'm just saying they are not the same as anti depressants and these brain zaps are not seizures

I forget what small seizures are called, but I can definitely describe them as "zaps" with vertigo added in there. You don't have to fall in the ground shaking to be having a seizure
Posted on 9/24/14 at 4:54 pm to MasCervezas
Very common. Talk to your doctor to see if you can take gradual smaller dosages to taper off.
Posted on 9/24/14 at 5:14 pm to MasCervezas
i get them sometimes before i fall asleep. But im not, nor have i been medicated.

No shite. I've been diagnosed with having simple partial seizures
But anti depressant withdrawal symptoms aren't seizures

Brain zaps are normal coming off these meds. However, you definitely should have tapered off under the guidance of your doctor. Give it about 10-14 days and you should be good to go.
Posted on 9/24/14 at 6:59 pm to MasCervezas
You should not abruptly stop a drug like Celexa. Brain Zapps are real. If you tapered off the drug slowly they may not be as bad.
Posted on 9/24/14 at 7:18 pm to MasCervezas
Yeah.I've been taking 40 mg of Celexa for the same reason.
If you go a few days without it things get weird.
Without it I sleep about 2 hours and then lay awake for the rest of the night.
Good luck.

It happened to me after I stopped taking Lexapro. It got better as time went on but still occurred months after randomly, but not frequently. Mostly around bedtime.

I heard it's really dangerous to quit anti-depressants cold turkey.
Posted on 9/24/14 at 8:40 pm to MasCervezas
I had that same phenomenon. It's like tiny seizures.
