Curious on your thoughts about lying about your act score on a job application/interview?

What the hell are you applying for that asks about your ACT score?

robert baird for a screening asked. I took the act about 8/9 years ago and I have changed since then. Curious on the right thing to do

When I was in college doing interviews, Accenture (then Anderson Consulting) asked for all of those test scores

Umm, the right thing to do is don't lie.

lying about anything quantitative on your resume is risky. if they find you to be a liar, that may stick with you throughout your job search.
"embellish" your skills all you want, but dont lie about numbers and things of the sort that are in records and can be verified.

I was diagnosed with a learning disability after I took it and my teachers helped me figure out were the problem was. I could've got into four year schools but committed to a juco for wrestling for alot of reasons. Once I committed I was done retaking any sort of test.

how does any of that mean you automatically get a higher ACT score?

I wouldn't.... I don't know how likely it is that they would catch it in a background check, as I know they do school records, but not standardized testing
However, if its the job you really want, I wouldn't risk it and later on that info come out and you be terminated. Have fun explaining that one to your next potential employer.

My opinion seems to be much different than everyone here. In life it is all about risk vs. reward. If it is your dream job with a huge salary, then I might make a "mistake" reporting it.
However if this is just an entry level $50,000 a year gig, then do not lie.

do you mind if your prospective employer lies about what your salary will be?

Don't lie
Look for another job opportunity - if you are answering this kind if canned, generic crap it would probably mean you are not walking into a dynamic work environment.

Dude, you are playing a sad story, but if you really changed and to want to show evidence of it, you have to retake the test.
What is your plan? "I made a 16 back then but I feel like I'm more a 25 now. I'm just not in the mood to take the test so I'm sure it's okay to just fill that in."

Any company offering a professional a job for post-graduation, that asks for an ACT score, would be immediately dismissed by me as a viable employer.
I could MAYBE see for an internship. And even that's pushing it.

Just don't tell them you got a 39 and everything should work out.
I join everyone else in asking a) why do they even care and b) how would they ever find out anyway?
But, if you are going to lie, make sure your composite and subscores match up. Saying you got a 30 composite with subscores 28,31,24 and 24 will look a tad suspicious.
