Reporter asks Goodell about "Ignorance is not an Excuse"

Reporter asked him: You suspended Sean Payton for a year. You said "Ignorance is not an excuse", a lot of people think you're not holding yourself to that standard. Have you considered resigning?
He said no, he's focused on doing his job.

What an idiot. Why ask that 2nd question? It was an obvious answer, but worse than that, it gave Goodell a break from having to answer the first question. Reporters these days...
Oh, you edited the original post.

Completely avoided the question. Goodell thinks just because he apologized everything will be alright.

Yeah, he pretty much skirted the question because he knows he looks like a hypocrite. There is no answer to that question that doesn't incriminate himself.
Not a big fan of Goodell right now. He's definitely coming off as a hypocrite and "more virtuous than you" character.

I really hope the public keeps bringing the heat and doesn't just let this die off like the NFL is hoping happens

Completely avoided the question

Funny how any questions regarding his being held accountable for getting things wrong are avoided. Not surprising in the least, though. Just like a politician avoiding the real question.

I wish someone would ask him this question:
"roger, you're a piece of fricking shite."

What an idiot, the reporter gave him an out to avoid the more heated question.

Really, what is everyone upset at Goodell for? Hopefully it's not just "BOUNTYGATE RABBLE RABBLE GUMBO RABBLE MARDI GRAS!" because that's just dumb.
Roger Goodell shouldn't lose his job because a few bad apples decided to turn to trash in the same week. Look at all the good being done in the NFL by guys like Drew Brees, J J Watt, Brandon Marshall, Sean Payton. Does he get credit for those guys like he does Adrian Peterson, Johnathan Dwyer, Greg Hardy and Ray Rice?
What the real problem here is that Goodell has been working on the fly. He's been making things up (repercussions, consequences, etc.) as he goes. And you cannot tell me that Ray Rice knocking out his girlfriend is less of an offense than Josh Gordon lighting up or getting drunk. Sorry.
He's been inconsistent and kind of incompetent. He has been incredibly hypocritical ("Ignorance is not an excuse.") Then he gets an "independent" investigation started and overseen by the two very owners that publicly back him mere days before? That's why he should have his job questioned. That's why this shouldn't go away. Not because we're mad at him for the Saints thing a few years ago. But because he's just not good at his job.

Bounty Gate proved he wasn't good at his job

However, I do fault him for not leading by example.

He created much of the disaster that Bountygate ended up being.

I don't get how a team/coach can cheat for a Super Bowl and only be fined and another coach gets blackballed for a year because ignorance is not an excuse.
How id goody above the very whimsical rules he lays down?
He should be fired for that alone.

I hate the SOB. I hope he goes down and I hope his old ladies snatch smells like rotten fish.

Please don't act like the good deeds of the good people you named have anything to do with Goodell. He isn't being blamed for the other players actions, he's being blamed for the cover-up.
