Would waiting for Black Friday for a new TV be economically beneficial?

Or are TVs about as low as they'll go for a while?
TIA.
And is slickdeals the best place to look for good TV deals?

I say TVs 55in and up are worth it

I'd be willing to bet that Sam's will have a 70 inch Vizio for around $1000.

I would say that as a percentage you could save a lot, but how much is your time worth? A good 50-60" TV can be had for 1000-1500 and you may get it at 50% off. I am not waking up at 2-3 in the morning to save $600-700 after crushing turkey and booze and watching the tigers kill a&m.

Name brand good stuff is never really off that much. You may get something on a very limited quantity that has a great deal, but that means your arse better be camping out. Just not worth it.
TV sales are actually better after the super bowl when TV companies start rolling out new products and getting rid of old inventory.

A few years ago we got a great deal at Walmart on a samsung. Saved around $800. My wife and maw-n-law stayed up all night next to them. I came at 6am to pick it up and there were about 10 still left. So I think it depends on where you're getting it from. The people who camped out at walmart weren't buying the big TVs.

I'm in the market for a 60". LED, don't need 3D, but if its a good deal.....240Hz preferable, but I think I could handle 120 as this is what I have now (I'm still in LCD world).

we all are.
the only difference is whther you have a flourescent backlight behind the LCD or an LED backlight.
you do get better blacks now with LED but the major advantage is weight savings.

That's great, but I'm even behind that. I have a 55" Sony rear projection LCD (just changed the bulb so it looks brand new), but I want LED. And, I can fit a 60" in my cabinet, so.....I'm patiently looking.

I think all 240Hz are going to be 3D. It's hard to get a top end picture without it also coming with 3D. I'm not sure if the 3D adds much to the cost.

I got a 60" Vizio on Black Friday TWO YEARS ago for $698, which is still less than the current price.
I bought it at Walmart and stood in line for maybe an hour and a half.
Was it worth it? I'd say so. I'd deff do it again.
Here's the exact TV I have: LINK
ETA: It's only $798 now, but back then it was well over $1K.

Just follow slickdeals. They alerted me to the Amazon price match to Frye's for my Panasonic 60" ST60 which I was able to get delivered for $999.95.

Check out amazon too. I bought my 65" Sony LED for 800 off MSRP. No special time of year.
