And yes, you get table service if you get a table. One solid memory I have of that night was the service was outstanding. Even in that crazy crowd, and having 6 people all drinking at their own pace, nobody waited for a drink. I told the waitress at one point that she is making us feel like we were the only table in the place.

Not exactly what you want, but the UGA bar in NYC (American Whiskey) is packed to the point of barely being able to get in around kickoff for big games. It's a blast...always run into a couple random people from college who live here or are in town for the weekend. I'd imagine LSU is similar. Tables have to be reserved ahead of time.

Did one game there three or four years ago. Nervous, lackluster crowd. Canned music. Cold And drafty.

I haven't been to Legend's in several years but when I lived there in 09 and 10 we went there pretty much every weekend in the fall and had a blast. It got packed and loud and was a lot of fun. Ditto the Saints bar Bar None on the east village. Not sure if it's still affiliated though.

I went to games in NYC when the bar was in the upper east side. Can't remember the name of the bar, but it was the best atmosphere of any LSU game outside of tiger stadium. It was the LSU bar (in chronological order) after Brother Jimmy's but before Legends, as far as LSU affiliated bars are concerned in NYC. I imagine Legends is just as good if not better.

Best LSU alum bar outside of the SEC states, and probably better than maybe all of them except Texas....and i've been to a lot of them.

THey play all the down music, $5 drinks (which is unheard of in NYC). The atmosphere is legit.

I was one of the ones buying shots that night (tradition in our group that came over from Turtle Bay)...were you with a girl in a gold dress?

I was thinking it was turtle bay, but was wondering why a bar in the UES would have the same name as a neighborhood next to Murray Hill.

you weren't there for Alabama 2011....i told them the day before that they should have the full staff working....the place was absolutely, positively packed to the gills....

they probably lost over 5K in sales simply because they didn't have enough staff...

I got there at 1 in the afternoon to hold our table...

It was...happened last year I think. Wasn't up here when that was the official bar. I think an alum opened the new place. It's really nice though.

wafer, if you plan on watching the game, you seriously have to go to legends

I've been to a lot of LSU bars across the country and this one is definitely best...not too far behind is standard bar and grill in chicago...it's a must to see Legends IMO.

I don't know who ABS is.

Brag, we still have to discuss what we're doing. However, if we decide to watch the game, it'll be there.

ETA Also just realized I'm over 40k posts. yay

I had going there down to an art from mid-Maryland...would catch WWL on the way home at night once i cleared Newark airport and could listen to the post game show all the way home...

There is a good parking garage just down the street with really reasonable rates (for NYC that is)
