You can't say the price of something is nuts then compare it to an entirely different order. How are you not getting that?

If you order the exact same thing at Sammys you will pay more then walk-ons because you arent getting fries with your sandwich

The first 8 sandwiches under the Specialty Sandwiches section at Sammy's are served with fries.

I do see some that don't mention fries, but none are chicken sandwiches.

Chimes serves fries with all sandwiches.

Chelseas serves fries with all sandwiches.

I worked at Dempsey's for 3 years.

It is hands down the cheapest place with this style of food. You are dead wrong.

Don't get me wrong... as a business, they're doing a hell of a good job of sneaking extra $$$ onto things where people won't think of it.

Yep. Dollar here, dollar there and all of a sudden you're bill is $70 dollars for a bunch of shite you probably regret eating afterward give the better cheaper options to eat and drink.

Can I say that anyone who would fork over their own money for said order is nuts?

I full fledge disagree. I love Dempseys but it is 10.99 for a poboy. That is pretty standard

ETA: Walks ons is 9.99. So walk ons is cheaper then Dempseys. See how your bias comes through?

You can. But you still won't have shown anywhere you can get that order cheaper.

To help you out

Dempsey's didn't have liquor, but does now. I haven't ordered it, but I promise you it's dirt cheap knowing the owner. His alcohol is reasonably priced.

Hell, he does half off bottles of wine and only charges $20 for them regularly, so you're drinking a bottle of Penfold's for $10.

Funny you say that. I've actually gotten food poisoning from walkons food, so I really can't stomach their food. The place also reminds me of hooters, which is not a compliment.

I love when people disagree with people that actually worked at places. It's always fun.

Well that helps me understand the hate of the place. But if Hooter's reminds you of Walk On's, you must have a pretty nice Hooters

One dollar more, but $3 more on the cheese fries.. $4 more than Bulldog (probably $5-$6 more than Dempseys) on the mixed drink.. $2 more on the beer [Demp charges $4 for Canbrake/Nola types])

I am pretty sure I made it VERY clear several times that the sandwich prices at WalkOns aren't my gripe...

Can't really argue with that.

I can't think of another establishment that has 50 taps of beer, yet is so full of mediocre beers as Walk-Ons. Then they charge $2 more a pint for them.

I have a bigger problem with that than their actual food items. The portion sizes were huge when I went last week. More than I needed to eat for sure. I didn't feel cheated by a $10 poboy with fries.

Incorrect. Walk ons small cheese fries, which have the same amount as Dempseys, is the same price

Let's compare similar food to another similarly mediocre Baton Rouge restaurant, Brew-Bacher's:

- large cheese fries: $6.75
- draft beer: $4.25 (Shiner Bock .. their most expensive) x 2 = $8.50
- chicken club: $8.99
- double crown: $10 I'm guessing?
- shrimp poboy: $7.99
- fries: $2.75

sub = $44.98
tax = $4.05
TOTAL = $49.03

save yourself $15 bucks all of a sudden
