That's not true. In sports, we say "Cal" but academically and in other areas, they are Berkely.

Those are major, flagship schools. ULL is regional and not even the flagship of its system. It's much different.

I think the university's refusal to recognize "ULL" is silly. It basically puts us in a position where we HAVE to spell out the full name of the university, or just use "Louisiana" which some people take exception to.

The point is the university is clearly not just using the "Louisiana" name as athletic branding but also for the university itself. Which is my main hangup with this situation.
You cant hang your hat on using a loophole in the system if you then completely disregard the system istelf. Whats the point of caring about the loophole in the first place/

I like ULLLL's strategy of advancing their program by making everybody else in the fricking state hate their school. Let's be arrogant, delusional retards and allenate ourselves from all the other residents of the state were located in. The only state that has a chance of giving a frick about our program. Let's make them all hate us by being blatantly stupid. That'll advance our program!! At the same time we can confuse the rest of the fricking country and make nobody know who we are!!!

Yes you cannot rename the actual university to whatever you want. Athletics, thats a different story.
