I would love to take that bad boy to the mountains. I think he would love that. Taking the grandkids, camping, spending time with one another. I'll ask him if he has time.
SD, how old is he?
I like mine and don't mind driving it, but I doubt I'll be rocking it at 70.
If you drive it, just remember when you're parking it, go slow, look like a pro, go fast, look like an arse.

Not an RV
definitely save $ on the travel trailer, but there's nothing like a class A for traveling

Yeah, he's owned RV's for over 20 years. He's a veteran.
He will be 74 this December.

I love RV trips but I do hate when I have to set up at the camp. Always worried about that poop shoot spraying me. It's a gamble every time.

He finally gave it up because that thing broke almost every time he took it out, including many major issues like brake lines and hydraulics
This. My father-in-law has one and it's a money pit on wheels. They are convenient, but constantly have things breaking. The jacks, the refrigerator, the convertor, the air conditioner, the grey water tank...the list goes on. I might have a nice trailer at some point, but I'll never own a real RV.

Revitalized tailgating for the family, plus I love anything with an engine.
Yep. Plus with a motorhome you always have something to fix! Ha.

I got dragged to the RV Supershow in Dallas this past weekend and they have some amazing RV's. Walked through several that were $800k plus.
That said, there were at least a hundred travel trailers that were mostly in the $12k-$30k range. Many looked very nice. So a new trailer for $35k is very doable and it'll be nice.
The dome usually has an RV show. Go check it out. It'll give you a good idea of what's out there.

True.
There is always some knicky-knack.

I just bought a TT two weeks ago after researching them for 9 years. It is an investment in spending more time with the wife and kids. The cost was brand new 17k for a 30 ft fiberglass and aluminum ultra lite. I can pull it with my expedition. Insurance is cheap. I hope to tailgate at LSU with the family in the future. Will take it out at least once a month with the kids. Get them of the xbox and computers into the outdoors.

It really is always something.
And with a tow behind, they manufacturer is going to put some cheap arse, piece of chit tire on it. You will have a blow out either from too much use, or lack of use. If you're lucky the fender skirt won't get trashed.
The only tires I've had that last are Michelin and Goodyear.
