So who controls the offense, Cam or Les?

Because tonight looked exactly like every low scoring game in Les Miles' tenure.

So 31 points is now considered "low".

I think Les is putting Cam in control. He is giving up much more control than he used to. We did not show much tonight because we didn't have to.

I think Les has always made it clear that he wants lilly white vanilla for non SEC opponents. That's always been the same, no matter who his OC has been. He let Cam open it up in SEC play last year. I think he will again.

They played ULMonroe
They'll always play vanilla against cupcakes.

If you say that, then you don't know anything about their defense, or what it was that Les was trying to accomplish.

They both do. And they are doing an excellent job. The offense is light years ahead of where it was pre-Cam. Our only issue on O now is figuring out how reliable/trustworthy/consistent Jennings and the passing game can be.and that's just a natural growing process with a young inexperienced QB, especially in a run-first offensive philosophy.
I wouldn't take too much from ULM other than we won big as we were supposed to....we got bigger fish to fry in the coming weeks. The offense is going to be fine. It'll have its ups and downs, but we are assured of having a productive, competent offense under Cam and this O talent IMO.

Tonight was a golden opportunity to get Jennings and the receivers more reps...and it didn't happen.
Failing to take advantage of such opportunities will inevitably hurt us down the road.

Miles' tenure
Also, maybe you didn't notice, but we were playing ULM. No need to get creative with the offense when you can pound it down your opponent's throat all night.

Could've easily been 38-0 if we felt like it.

We really didn't pound it though
looked like a goal line O every running play

We are playing a competitive Miss St team and so far this season we haven't given away much. Why would we need to open up the playbook against ULM???
We are going to grind it out on them until they break and they did. Now all Miss St knows is that we run up the middle and like to go to Dural deep. We haven't given away a lot of WR routes or any misdirections or counters in the running game.

What was les trying to do? And tell me about the vaunted ULM defense...other than what you heard the announcers say

Obviously, you know more about who should get reps and when than Miles/Cameron. I'm not even sure why we hired those guys, if all they're gonna do is miss rep opportunities against Sun Belt teams?. . .
