East Upper escalator line stretched all the way up the hill today.

And they made it to where you could only enter the gate from the NEZ side. You've been able to enter from the SEZ & NEZ side for the past 15 years including last week. I'd love to know who thought of this stupid shite all of a sudden.

Yeah that shite will be a cluster frick for State, Ole Miss and.. I don't even want to think about Alabama

LSU really screwed up by only printing GATE 9 on the EU tickets. They sent an email out last week, but apparently nobody reads those things. You can enter in the South gates 22-28, and then walk right over to the ramps that used to be accessible from the outside. I walked up a basically empty ramp while everybody else stood in line for the escalator

I've been to nearly 100 games in TS. Never been in the East or West Upper for any of them. Never even been to the West Upper. Sat in the East Upper for the Saints games.

We did the same but some in our group had small children.

That's part of it, but it wasn't nearly as bad last week. The big problem is like the op said, they have allowed two lines forever but without explanation today they decided to only allow entrance from the north side.

Some genius decided to change the entrance design AND only allowed for two ticket scanners to be used. This person didn't allow the workers to make any changes. Eventually a few workers defied the authority and opened additional access. The line was backed up the hill to the circle and this game was against ULM.
This assclown should be fired!!! There was no excuse for this at all. Your only other option is to walk around the stadium, enter from the south, walk back to the east, and then access the ramp.
The east upper deck (10,000+ seats) has been repeatedly ignored by LSU. The "sole" escalator breaks down EVERY game and often jolts everyone when it abruptly stops. It's a lawsuit waiting to happen.
This was by far the most embarrassing display of incompetence I've ever seen regarding game day operations.
Between old television monitors, poor concession choices, and by far the worst seat access in the stadium, the East Upper has become a neglected section.
I don't want to see ANY additions, changes, or even a light bulb replaced until somebody fixes the damn east side access!

This was the worst part. I've had 4 EU tickets for about 10 years now in the gold seats and I've never seen it like it was yesterday. We walked up about an hour before kickoff from the South and commented that there was no line this week. Turns out the freaking line was all the way up to Fieldhouse and around the circle. We get by the barricades and there was only 3 ticket scanners. There's usually a lot more.

I saw this was going to be an absolute cluster frick when I went up 2 1/2 hours before kick off. They had decided to make one narrow access point on the opposite side of the escalator that then literally snaked around completely needlessly back and forth until you'd finally get to the scanners. As I was the first person there, I glanced as if to ask if I could simply scoot through an opening nearer the scanners and be on my way...but I was told to walk through the snake. It took nearly a minute to wind back and forth to end up back where I was...and I was walking normal speed and alone.
When I got to the front I said, "Well...you guys are in for a long night, because this is gonna be a disaster."
So...you can either wait and hope LSU realizes this is an issue and fixes it, or you can get there earlier. My suggestion would be to try the later, because I would not hold out hope that they're gonna be receptive to fixing this issue as it seems like it was a brand spanking new idea meant to accomplish, well...something.

They probably have to begin the bid process to hire a consulting firm to study the situation and render a solution by 2016

You shouldn't have to arrive 90-120 minutes before kickoff to enter when all other sections can arrive minutes before and still make it to their seats.
There's not enough access to the 10K+ seats and absolutely NOTHING has been done to address the issue for over a decade.
I can walk up the 20 ramp sections but many cannot therefore they have no other option than a poorly-designed, under-performing escalator which breaks every game.
If there was even a slight hiccup getting people into the suites or club section, LSU would be working 24/7 to address the issue. They don't give a rat's arse about the long-tenured season ticket holders.

Don't misunderstand...I'm not suggesting you should have to. You should not.
I'm suggesting that if your concern, for now, is to NOT have to stand in line for an hour to get into your seats, arriving early is a way to fix that.
Like I said...I have no clue how well the system has ever worked, because I always go up to my seats hours before kick off...so even the shittiest most ill conceived plan would work fine for my needs. But even I could tell by the way they had jammed everything up and created this winding snake and one entrance in a place no one had ever seen before was going to create a nightmare.
I agree...it ought to be better. Until then, you can either solve the main issue for yourself and be mad you had to do that, or arrive later without having had the issue resolved and be mad twice over. It's your call, obviously.

For Bama two years ago I left the arse. Center after the band finished and went straight to Gate 9. Missed all but 5 minutes of the first quarter.
So I can enter other gates?
So I can enter other gates?

If you don't mind and are able to walk the ramps all the way up, then you can enter in gates 22-28 and get there. It's a hike, but there's never a wait.

I got you. Sorry...it wasn't meant as a reply to you.
I've made my decision. They either take action this season or my time as a season ticket holder, TAF member, and donor will come to an end. My 40 years of supporting LSU will be done via television without any monetary contributions.
To say I'm ticked at the continuous impartial treatment in the stadium is a HUGE understatement.
