Lived and worked there a few years ago. Hurricanes really changed that town. Just didn't seem to recover well from them. Really not much to do there unless you like hunting or fishing. Fairly easy drive to Houston, Crystal Beach, LC and BR if you are a LSU fan.

There was horrible accident right outside of there on the Tuesday after the LSU Wisconsin game. Penske truck looked like it caught fire and blew up on the interstate.

So there's that.

I like to fish. Not sure how much time I'll have for it though. 7-12s

But if I had to stay-go somewhere with a nightlife...where would it be?

It's 20 minutes from my house.

Big B doughnuts make a great kolache.

The closest decent restaurant is in Sulphur.

If you like the ponies the racetrack in vinton is 10 minutes away.

Beaumont sucks don't even bother with it.

You can hang out with MS13 in port Arthur only 15 minutes away.

Kids from Little Cypress have lots of drugs.

Vidor chicks are whores.

It has a weiner schnitzel.

Make friends with somebody with a boat and go to Sabine pass on your off days.

That's about it

Are you saying that I could sing the entirety of David Allen Coe's body of work out loud and no one would have a problem?

Vidor might possibly be the most racist town in the country yet every late teens to mid 20's guy does his very best to dress and act "black". The women are bored so basically if you buy drinks and show them attention you're getting in them pants.

Crockett street in Beaumont used to be ok but it has pretty much died.

There's Shangri La Gardens, which are cool if you're into that kind of thing. Designed by some LSU alumni. LINK

I was born there...so it has that going for it

For some good food and music head over to Larry's French Market

If you play golf you can try and get on at Sunset Country club...one of only two Donald J Ross courses west of the Mississippi (the other in Houston)
