Grocery Shopping Lines

I have gotten to the point where I prefer self check out because the lines are shorter. Also, the check out person doesn't touch my items.

They are cutting costs with the stupid check outs and making the consumer do the work. They have deliberately cut back on employee cash registers to force customers to go the alternative route. Ever notice there's like 4 or 5 non self servinbg lines at a super walmart center at 6 o clock on an evening now....?

Self checkout can be a nightmare with idiots and geriatrics not knowing what is going on, coupon ladies doing their thing, and machine malfunctions.

I understand that but it seems like WM always had 4-5 lines open regardless so the self checkout is great for me because I am so damn impatient.

You ever notice how the more "ethnic" the area is the less self-checkout lines they have? I guess some people just can't be trusted...

Self checkouts can be just as frustrating if you have to wait for people who don't know how to use it or have a buggie full of stuff.
The worst self checkouts are at Lowes. Those things never work right.

The Wal-Mart in my hometown took them all out over a year ago for this reason

I buy groceries for like 1.5 weeks at a time. I don't spend 8 hours a day checking out so it would take me a ton of time to do self checkout. Stay away from Walmart and other stores that hire people who couldn't care less about you and you won't really have to wait much. I've never been farther than 2nd in line at Whole Foods or Callandro's.

Yep, never had that problem at Winn Dixie or Albertson's either.
