Is LSU a better team for having played Wisconsin?
If we skated by a bunch of cupcakes to start this season, we'd likely see a lot of sloppy mistakes that the talent would overcome. Miles would have a hard time convincing players to work harder when they've just won by 30 pts; and sooner or later that would come back to bite us in the arse.
That first half against Wisconsin eliminated that. I'm pretty sure every player came in stunned and humbled, and gave the coaches their full attention. And whatever the coaches did, it worked.

Well for starters, how about the injury to Ethan Pocic?
In case this hasn't been properly ridiculed, Pocic was hurt against Sam Houston State, not Wisconsin.

I'm not familiar with the word inebrated. I google it and it keeps correcting it to "inebriated."
You really should consider not using the intellectual superiority card so quickly.

You beat me to it. Now let's wait for the tards that say we should let 3rd and 4th teamers play against the cupcakes because of the injury risk. They're out there. I can feel it.

It certainly helps Lsu in almost every facet. I have a great deal of respect for the Wisconsin program and will absolutely be pulling for them in every game.

We watched that team improve right before our eyes.

Of course it was. Coming back from 24-7 in the second half has to be a huge confidence boost and wake up call for the team.
Wisconsin could also conceivably go 11-1 with that schedule... that would be great for our ranking and postseason chances.

We won the game. We have a more impressive resume, we gave our young players great confidence in getting their first win against a power conference team with recent success, even greater confidence because of the way it was won
All true, but you are ignoring the very tangible improvements that are gained by playing a team that has that much talent.

That is not where "the better" is. It is the game film which indicates the things on which LSU needs to improve. Play a good team defines weaknesses real well. I agree with Miles. LSU needs to make another great leap forward in the ULM game, much more than is normally expected between the second and third game. This is a very young team. Even most of the "older players" like Jalen Collins, Jalen Mills, Alexander, Hunter, ect are only in their 3rd year. This team must start executing everything, defense, offense, ST at their peak by the 6th game.

Yes we are better for playing them especially since we won and that most likely Wisconsin is going to win the Big 10...

We were down 24-7 early in the second half. Instead of hanging our heads, we fought back and rallied to win. That's huge for our confidence, and it's an experience that I'm very grateful our team has.

I'm very pleased to hear that you "know what (you) think".... It was simply a suggestion.

Just wondering if that game will benefit us enough to make a difference in two weeks versus Moo State.
SHSU gave up 60 lbs on average on the line to LSU. Wisc matched or exceeded LSU on the line size. You be the judge...

To answer your original question, I think so. I think playing a real team that is somewhat of a challenge and respected in the rest of NCAAF, helps our young boys in experience. I think their confidence that they built in that game only helps them... ESPECIALLY with the comeback win.
I think we are more prepared for an SEC team. Do we still have a gauntlet? Yup. Are we better prepared? I think so.
