I just spent a night in Seattle (first time) and my god this is by far the most beautiful major American city I've ever been to. People on this board praise san Diego all the time when we discuss great cities but this puts S.D. to shame. Im guessing it's due to the notoriously bad weather Seattle gets(and possibly their politics).
Downtown Seattle isn't all that filthy compared to LA or NYC, the whole city sits on the beautiful Puget sound and the backdrop of mt Rainer is awesome.

Seahawk fans, misty weather, and left leaning whack jobs. No thx.
Just kidding, I would like to visit and see the area. Seems like a great city.

One of my favorite cities. The only knock is it can be kind of dreary 6 months out of the year unless you like gray skies and drizzle.

I've been there five times and I love it. If you get a chance, take a city tour with one of the tour companies. Seattle has many unique neighborhoods and cool areas.
Several of the distinct areas have their own little "downtown" areas with tons of cool local restaurants and bars. They have alot of great local beer up there too.
Place is super clean and people take care of their houses and yards, etc.
They protect their outdoor areas and it is beautiful.
I was there last month and I have never seen a city in person that was booming the way Seattle is. There is new construction and renovations everywhere. Place is off the charts right now.
Of course the weather isn't ideal from October thru May.
And let me beat the rednecks to the punch.... Despite their ignorance, Seattle isn't some liberal granola chick fruit cake city.

Love it. Kerry Park has one of the coolest views, especially at night. Public Transit there is pretty good, but I know they're working on it. Walking near the water is awesome.
I love SEA

Yep, I got to stay at a place in Fremont (just north of DT), but love all of the various districts (Fremont, Capitol hill, U District).

Would def love to visit, but couldn't live there and deal with dreary weather for several months out of the year.
But...that's the only negative I've ever heard about Seattle

Seattle has water all around it and it is amazing. I get to go boating quite a bit while up there and it's hard to beat the view of three mountain ranges and big Mt. Ranier while out on the water.

A stayed at the Edgewater and hit the touristy stuff like Pike Place and the Space Needle because I was only there for a day before a cruise. Liked the vibe, want to go back.

I've always preached on here that it's one of the most underrated cities in the entire country. People just assume grunge rock and rain.

I really like Seattle. It is super clean, beautiful, and on the rise. I'm not a fan of the weather.

Serious question, is there another major American city that is prettier than Seattle? I've been a bunch of places and haven't seen one that's close.
