What do you have close to you? If it's just chains then go with potato soup from Outback and call it a day. If you have an Applebee's nearby their tomato basil soup is pretty good.

Lobster Bisque at Whole Foods. Dig for the lobster.

Whole food has 12 different soups . I like the tomato basil or potato & poblano peppers

When I'm sick I like a chicken soup or one that will clear my sinuses. Think Chinese place for egg drop, wonton or hot 'n sour.

Someone I know was ill last week and had the chicken noodle from Langenstein's a few days later and said it was acceptable.
Depends on what your illness is. If your stomach is messed up, the acid in tomato soups might not be the best idea.
Copeland's might have a potato soup. Does the wife cook? I have very easy potato soup I make that can be made pretty bland or you can add to it whatever you like, ham, bacon etc...
I agree on the won ton or egg drop soups. I have those sometimes when I'm feeling puny. I have no Metairie suggestions, though.
You might want to change the two word title to a few more words before an admin anchors it.

Vincent's has the corn and crab soup if that's something you'd feel like eating.

Pho Ga (chicken) from Pho Orchid

Pho - extra jalapenos, siracha, and basil.
The broth is chock full of fat and nutrients from bone marrow, bones, and vegetables. The beef contains plenty of b vitamins and iron for an energy boost. The spiciness will clear your sinuses and stimulate your adrenaline.
Basil, sprouts, and jalapenos also have vitamins and minerals conducive to boosting your immune system.
Further, most Vietnamese restaurants have very good hot tea, which would be an excellent end to your meal and provide antioxidants.
Finally, I suggest finish with a big handful of fresh blueberries and some extra dark (think 60+%) chocolate. But don't eat too much chocolate too late as the caffeine could interrupt your sleep.
ALWAYS knocks out the oncoming colds for me.

Wonton soup from Kim Ahn's. It will cure cancer.

Pho ga from Pho Sunrise
Pho tai from Pho Bang
Guaranteed to cure upper respiratory ailments, but only if you use all of the supplied jalapenos in the soup. If it's a GI bug, forget the jalapenos.
Or the tom kha soup from Siamese Thai.

Sitting down to a hot bowl of pho makes me feel better even before I taste any. The smell alone makes me feel comforted.
