So how was the official LSU Alumni Tailgate?

Curious on everybodys take. How was the food, drinks? I know it was $50+ with only food included. Would anyone say it was worth it. I know LSU Houston tried their best to put on the best event they could but were handcuffed by NRG and Aramark. I did the party in midtown route and it was a blast.

Far from being worth $50 a pop. Not near enough seating, very long lines for food and drinks expensive. But it was very comfortable a/c wise.

I briefly thought about doing the tailgate but opted to party in midtown instead.

This is being kind.
It sucked. The line to get in was long. The food line was forever! There were two beer gardens but only one open to the general population which resulted in really long lines for expensive beer. The liquor lines...no one had time for that. The bathrooms had lines because half the stalls were out of order. We had no where to sit. We had to sit on the floor.
Never again. Alumni "tailgates" are dead to me.

I can't believe some of you fell for this shite again after the last couple of alumni tailgates. $50 for some shitty sandwich and the opportunity to buy shitty beer. What could go wrong?

A group of ours left Rice Village to go and all said they wished they had stayed and drank with us at the bars because it wasn't worth it.

Bought tickets to the Alumni Tailgate late last week when weather (rain) looked to be a factor. We parked the truck under a tree just east of the Astrodome, and weather was actually great. But since we had the tickets, we walked over to check it out. The A/C was nice, food wasn't that bad, but of course the highlight was the Tiger Band making an appearance. After that, we went back out to the parking lot and the cold beer in the ice chest.

I think this is pretty much the exact review for each year one of these alumni groups throws the their so called greatest pregame party tailgate ever. Every year people fall for the ripoff.

Ran out of good food, crazy long lines for beer. the AC and BTE may have made it worth it. But overall it kinda sucked

A/C was great. Food decent. One plate so you had to load up. Long lines for drink and food. Not enough tables or chairs. Could have opened up the other side and would have been plenty of room. Heard some folks say they were selling tickets at the door but could not guarantee food. Golden Band was nice treat. BTE not for me. Did not sell soda from the bar only water. Bartender said that they only had soda for mixed drinks. Kids wanted soda. All in all not sure what limitations they had put on them but everyone was very polite and cool. $40 may have been more reasonable with one plat and no chairs.

It was awful. They should be ashamed. I wish I was important enough to call and bitch to someone.

Sounds like it was awful.

Accurate assessment with the exception that soft drinks were being sold also.

Is this the Texas Tigers alumni/TAF deal in the big hall across the parking lot with Ezra playing on the first floor and the party upstairs? It was great- free open bar, free good food, lots of women, big screen TVs showing SEC games. Am I missing something?

Lines were long for everything, including food, drinks & restrooms. I HATE lines. I don't know who catered the event, but the food sucked. The jambalaya may have been the worst I have ever had. The Golden Band & BTE were good. Overall, I was disappointed. I just hope the proceeds raised go to a good cause.

I, along with about a dozen friends, all had a great time and enjoyed the event. I appreciate what the volunteer alumni did and all the hard work they put in. We enjoyed the food, music, A/C and socializing with other tiger fans in a very spacious area that was reserved.

If you like waiting in lines, being thirsty and hungry all for $50/person then it was a big success.
Are the caterers that ignorant to realize that more bartenders = more $$$$ and happier people?
BTE , the AC, and the Tiger band were all good points.

Had a good time there. Positives were a/c, Tiger Band, BTE. Negatives were Long beer lines, lack of multiple TV's (couldn't see them that well if you weren't a VIP), and the jambalaya (seperate rice and "jambalaya toppings" at an LSU event? What the hell was that?)
