Idiots. They think they must attack him because he has an R by his name and they don't realize how dumb and hypocritical they sound now. They'll isolate a lot of their base with that hawkish tone.
Well said. If a Democrat was going to vote for a hawk, why not just vote for McCain, because you know he's the real thing.

Those fat hacks have no idea how hypocrital they sound right now. They have an epic tin ear going on right now.

“Simply put, if Rand Paul had a foreign policy slogan, it would be – The Rand Paul Doctrine: Blame America. Retreat from the World.”
It's Alinsky 101 -- Assign your faults to others.
I really don't see Rand making it to the general election unfortunately, but if he did, he'd eat that yarn up.

quote:Obama 2.0
criticized American policy to the president of another country on foreign soil. This week he’s blaming the Obama Administration for another nation’s civil war. That type of “blame America” rhetoric may win Paul accolades at a conference of isolationists but it does nothing to improve our standing in the world. In fact, Paul’s proposals would make America less safe and less secure.

Wait, is Rand Paul running as a Democrat?

Its a cute saying and all and repeating something over and over again doesn't make it more factual.
Mitt and Massachusetts are not "right".

holy crap he's doing it, turning dems into hawkish republicans.

No he didn't. Republicans have never supported nationalized healthcare.
Just because one "conservative" think tank proposed it as an idea doesn't mean those on the right or the Republican party supported it.

A main different in Paul and Obama is Paul has better leadership capabilities and I fully trust him to be more successful with diplomacy....more like Reagan.
You can be non interventionist and still have a strong foreign policy. Obama just makes all of the wrong decisions..his foreign policy is atrocious.
But we don't have to arm everyone and bomb everyone to be strong in foreign affairs.

I think the point dante is making is that these are the same arguments that were made against Obama in 2008 by the RNC. That he would blame America first (which was - in my opinion - a consistent theme of his candidacy). Seems awful self serving now that the DNC is using the same argument against Rand. He is turning their Left flank and they know it.

What's the basis for your opinion? Rand has no executive experience?

ALL of the wrong decisions? Are you saying that Obama should have stayed in Iraq and attacked Syria and Iran?

I have said it once and I will say it again. Anyone who voted for Lurch in 2004, but does not vote for Rand, is a huge hypocrite.
Posted on 8/28/14 at 6:47 pm to deltaland
On top of the fact that the think tank was in favor of requiring catastrophic plans. You know...the ones obamacare outlawed.
Also....the think tank changed their view on even that pretty quickly. You could say they evolved....Long before obamacare came along.

I'll go a step further. Assuming Hillary and Rand get the nominations, anyone who voted for Kerry and Obama because of foreign policy is logically incoherent if they vote for Hillary. Conversely, anyone who voted for W and McCain because of foreign policy is logically incoherent if they vote for Rand.

do they not see the irony of their response?
but what about our global standing?!?!

The amazing thing is that this could have been a republican response to a democrat in 2004.
You mean politicans swap arguments with each other depending on who is in power????????
