It's going to get interesting as that exclusion begins to get challenged.
Yep.

The kind of people who would use use guns for violence aren't going to be the ones walking around Costco with a holstered pistol.
The fear people have of seeing guns carried openly in public is completely and totally irrational, but then again so are most of the thoughts that run through the average American's head.

Tinfoil hat a little tight there.
When gun owners act like assholes carrying their guns into Starbucks, voters complain & change the laws.
Not too hard to figure out. Every person fighting for open carry seems like an a-hole to me.

Maybe. Not sure.
But I do know that in most locales it does make people uneasy. Especially in urban areas. I won't repeat the full story, but it's like the guy who walked into a fricking stationery and gift store here with a sidearm and hung out for awhile. Finally, someone called the cops who took the guy outside and talked to him. The officers basically told him he may be legal but he was definitely being an a-hole.
I've said before I own handguns, but I honestly don't get the attraction of open carry on a regular basis. It really do question people's reasoning.

Open carry seems to fall into the category of: Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Pretty much, I guess.

I can agree with this. I conceal carry, but i would never walk around with my handgun strapped to my waist in public.
And I am a firm believer in the 2nd amendment, but you don't need to walk around Wal Mart with a 12 gauge strapped to your back. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
I honestly don't see many people open carrying here. Maybe I just don't notice it. But if I were in Albertsons and someone was walking around with a rifle, I honestly would probably be a bit scared.

open carry is for assholes & will end up ruining it for the rest of us

Open carry....perfect for any dystopia. I don't mind personal handgun use. I don't personally own one, but I'm not 100% anti-gun. Carrying one everywhere you go in plain sight is the sign of weakness and insecurity. If I got into a fender bender and the guy gets out with a gat strapped to his waist, shite is gonna make me nervous. That shouldn't happen.

, but I don't like open carry. sort of defeats the purpose of surprising the culprit.
How ever if you open carry the culprit will probably stay away from you.
Also by saying "surprising the culprit" makes you sound like you want to use your gun on someone.

Are you capable of making a relevant point?
What you say makes absolutely zero sense. But please, carry on.
