Miles is 3-5 vs Saban. Maybe that's the decline?

Apparently LSU is dying a slow but steady death back to mediocrity or something like that.

quote:

LSU “[Defensive coordinator] John Chavis, he’s done the same stuff schematically for what feels like forever. It’s not very difficult. They do a lot of two-man, a lot Tampa 2. That’s one thing that he’s just not going to change. I don’t think they will be the same up front at all. They lost a lot of players. In my opinion, there’s a slow, steady decline of that program. Athletically, they can reload up front. But developing fundamentally sound players, that takes time, time they might not have this year. So, I’m not sure they can recover that quickly. Zach Mettenberger, to me, is very average. With Cam Cameron coming in as the offensive coordinator, it will be a different offense. It’s probably going to open up things a lot more, and Mettenberger will probably be a better fit with doing that.”
In a preseason publication last yr, the "anonymous" coaching Q&A response to LSU was one SEC coach saying that our program is in a "slow steady decline". Based on our subpar coach and annual mass exodus of underclassmen to the nfl. We supported said statement with a 10 win season and new yrs day bowl win.

The decline is when you lose a game and a fan shoots their friend for laughing at the loss.

The decline is when your kicker misses a kick or two and your passionate and loyal fan base of many years send death threats via social media for his short comings.

The decline is when Bob Stoops makes your arse quit.

Something about being #1 in 2003 and 2007 and being the second most consistent team in CFB since... Some consider that a "decline." Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that it's mostly wishful thinking by SEC rivals and a few irrational LSU fans.

People have been penciling us in to fall off the map since 2005. Every year, the season comes, the season goes, and it doesn't happen so they point to the next year. At some point they'll be right, but for now they've been wrong for nearly a decade. And they're prognosis took a pretty major hit 30 months ago when LSU capped off the greatest regular season in college football history with yet another SEC title.
