I would like to think our chances of containing a contagious virus in the US is a little better than a clinic in the middle of the jungle made out of plastic wrap and bamboo.

I'll bet man. Maybe time to go on that vacation...

Yea, no kidding.

Apparently they are going to be housed in this super secure isolation unit that is only 1 of 5 in the country. Fingers crossed.

I found nothing in the MSDS that says it is contagious before the onset of symptoms. It is interesting that it can be found in semen up to a couple of months later.

While terrorists are pretty nuts, infecting yourself with the ebola virus so that you can hopefully get on a plane to a crowded area in Europe or the USA.

Well, if it's the one published on foxnews.com, then it's Emory Univ. Hospital. It's pretty public already, for better or worse.

Got an e-mail today about how we are admitting a pt with ebola in the next coming days. Nerves are high around the hospital.

EBOLA VIRUS OUTBREAK

Emory University Hospital in Atlanta said Thursday it was preparing a special isolation unit to receive a patient with Ebola disease “within the next several days”.

“We do not know at this time when the patient will arrive,” Emory said in a statement. The university also did not say whether the patient was one of two Americans battling Ebola infection in Liberia – charity workers Nancy Writebol and Dr. Kent Brantly.

“Emory University Hospital has a specially built isolation unit set up in collaboration with the CDC to treat patients who are exposed to certain serious infectious diseases,” the hospital said. “It is physically separate from other patient areas and has unique equipment and infrastructure that provide an extraordinarily high level of clinical isolation. It is one of only four such facilities in the country."

Experts say isolating patients with Ebola is important. The disease is not terribly contagious, but it can spread via bodily fluids and healthcare workers are at special risk. They must wear layers of protective equipment including boots, gloves, a full body suit and face and eye protection.

Umm, WTF are you talking about? Bengal posts one non-Peer reviewed "modelling" study concerning an ongoing situation that essentially says "erm, we aren't as confident in earlier conclusions as the rest of the medical community was after their actual observations" and that's somehow authoritative?

Brotha, please.

West African medical protocols. West African hospitals and isolation wards. None with Ebola, if that makes you feel better.

Well you doubted my facts, then posted an article that backs up my facts.

I'm pulling your pass, NC. I have to get BHP's buy-in, but I'm pretty sure you're done.

Tell that to the US HEALTHCARE WORKERS who died from exposure to your noncontagious disease.
