Can someone give me an idea of just how much production capacity the Sasol plant can possible have. Like in terms of percentage of total US diesel production. Could that addition of supply actual affect the price of diesel, or will it still be pretty small compared to what we already produce through oil refineries?

Just guessing but I will say no...they aren't looking to lower their profit margins.

Pretty sure Sasol isnt expanding for more diesel output. Sasol, along with every other major expansion are building Crackers and LNG plants

I thought it was the old Shaw building on Hwy 14 in Delcambre?

ETA: maybe not

Countries around the world see that Ukraine and Western Europe are dependent on Russian natural gas. Putin has them by the balls because he can turn off the heat in January. So they are locking in a stable supply from a politically reliable and trustworthy source, the US.

Yeah, except the DoE has been dragging their heels on approving these export facilities. I think this one took 5 years to get approved, even though it is already an existing import facility

I'm quite certain that I don't know a damn thing, but I've seen CBI's balance sheets and they ain't pretty. I'm hoping the price on their stock (which just hit a 52 week low) continues to plummet so I can buy it on the cheap before they inevitably rebound.

I thought the Lake Charles plant was a LNG to Diesel conversion facility using the Fischer–Tropsch process as mentioned in this wiki:

This has been in the works for 5-6 years now. I remember an associate of mine telling me about it when the initial planning was in the works. Glad to see it come to fruition.

they will like build things in that shithole parish?

It's expensive as hell to build in Cameron Parish these days. Tons of hurricane and flooding restrictions and the insurance cost, if you can get any, will be more than your mortgage.

You're better off living on Carlyss or South LC and just driving there.

Yup.....been knowing about it for awhile. We do ALOT of work in Calcasieu.

The entire region will be exploding with economic growth.

Eta: CB&I have called me for advice on some issues, but I wouldn't count them out yet. And, that's after I've had to clean up some of their shite work in Texas.
