We are getting way off topic.
The best pathway for the USA to follow in the future with regard to the ME and dealing with Islamic terrorism is the most important foreign policy topic that we could tackle here on this board.
Simplistic suggestions are probably not going to be a comprehensive solution. Just getting out of the ME completely may not do it, because bin Laden's own Letter to America states that Jihad will continue against us until WE become Muslim, that is to say, Jihad will continue until WE submit to Allah here in our comfy US houses.
So, complete withdrawal from the ME and even abandonment of Israel may not be enough.
The best solution deserves another thread. Think your suggestion over and start a thread when you think it's a solution. I'd like to give every ideal thoughtful consideration.
We've already considered the "Pope Orders a New Crusade" option and voted it down.

Even if the USA completely withdraws from the ME, that in no way guarantees peace with Muslim extremists.
What will it take for them to leave us in peace? In his Letter to America, bin Laden said, when we submit to Islam.

I'd start by telling them to shove their oil up their arse. Seize all assets they have here and tell them to go piss up a rope. And stop all trade with ANYONE that does buy it. This is the greatest industrial nation humanity has ever created and we have more oil then they do anyway.
