Good point
Liking the Sandlot this much, and admitting to it definitely proves you are not smart, nor are you trying to pass yourself off as smart.

I liked Django but I wasn't in love with it.
I do think IB is an absolute masterpiece, and on par with Fiction.

Agree completely.
I liked Django but it went overboard so many times, especially toward the end. I was waiting for it to be over even though I liked it overall and usually like long movies.

Never liked a single movie that Tarantino made. I haven't taken the time to watch Pulp Fiction. Figured it was the same shite he always puts out.

I feel similar to the way you feel, but it is a pretty good movie. It's worth checking out on a lazy Saturday if you have one.

Django was awful IMO. Easily the worst QT film.

I watched it for the first time back in January and I liked it. I wouldn't put it over Forrest Gump, but I thought it was a solid movie.
Rape scene was a bit too much though

I like it but Tarantino isn't my favorite director.
I like True Romance though. Not much else he did.
makes sense seeing as he didnt direct True Romance

Of course, you probably didn't like it as much precisely because it is hyped so much.
exactly, there is a lot of backlash. It doesn't have the same impact it did when it was new.

The coolest thing about it imo is that it has an original, interesting, and effective structure. Movies like that don't come out every year. Forrest Gump is a very good movie with great general appeal. However, nothing about how it told the story was very interesting.

I love all of his films. Already looking forward to The Hateful Eight.

It's like people think Tarantino invented pulp fiction and the use of a nonlinear narrative to tell a story. I find this both humorous and stupid.
ETA: Nevermind reading Catch-22, how about we stick with the same medium and look back at Jean Luc Godard's films. He famously said: "I agree that a film should have a beginning, a middle and an end but not necessarily in that order." Not only did not invent the narrative type, he didn't even invent its use in filmmaking. Yet people hail him as having done so.

No one thinks he invented it.
Anyway, those people who love Forrest Gump and those who love PF are probably just never going to agree.
People who "love" Forrest Gump like schmaltzy feel good crap. Its a cute movie.

Pulp Fiction, I just don't get what people see in this movie.
This does not mean, therefore, that I am a big Forrest Gump pusher. I'm asking were there no third or 4th options that Oscar year?
