THe Bronze Star overshadows anything I will ever be able to do. Awesome man.

Thanks, definitely proud of that one. That's why I have very mixed feelings when I see a video like this and the guy is hanging a Bronze Star and Silver Star and he has absolutely no idea what it takes to get those.

To all of the prior service members here (I'm an Army vet), It's very difficult to make someone understand, If they have never served, what those medals mean and how much respect we, as vets, have for the men and women who sacrificed so much to EARN the privilage of wearing them proudly. Someone said that they were sure they could have been a marine if they chose to do so. Maybe, but you didn't, that means you have no say or valued opinion on what is appropriate regarding the "calling out" of someone pretending to have earned decorations they didn't earn.

Being mentally ill is one thing, but many people create a fake service history to boost their resume. Navy SEAL is the most frequently impersonated, retired SEAL Senior Chief Don Shipley has made it his life's work to ferret out and expose phony SEALs. He gets 50-100 emails a day from people reporting impersonators, his Youtube channel is pretty entertaining.

You aren't in the military world in public. You are in the civilian world, the general populace most definitely has a say in how you act and respond to others when you enter our world. We are not a military dictatorship.
These guys weren't that bad though, I wouldn't have a problem with it unless the dude is actually screwed up in the head.

One more opinion.
If I saw this guy on a parking lot, I would take one look at his chest and then go over and shake his hand. What he is wearing signifies a pure hero and his rank is difficult for an enlisted man to achieve. I would tell him that and thank him for his service to our nation.
A bronze star for valor? Assuming he might be reluctant to discuss the situation he went through to earn that designation, I'd still ask what happened and he would understand, even if he declined to discuss it.
Having said all of that, they guy looks fake from first glance. No Sargent Major would dress like that (so sloppy). My belief is that it is improper to wear both ribbon and medal on a uniform at the same time. As a Sergeant Major, He would absolutely know that.
If I passed this guy on a parking lot, I would identify him as a fake in 10 seconds.
Now for the supposed harassment:
I thought the marines were very respectful in the way they questioned the guy, but from the very beginning, his answers and his manner sounded like he knew he had been outed as an imposter.
IMO, any man who has stood in battle and seen what men and women do to earn these awards, would be offended to see someone who cared so little for the bravery others have shown while in uniform that they wore them as an imposter.
I agree that he is sick. You've got to be one twisted ---- to wear someone else's medal for bravery and those medals belong to someone who deserved them.
I think the guy got what he deserved, maybe less than de deserved.

My favorite thing was his ate up beret with rank on it.

Here's another possibility...he could be a CSM in the LA National Guard

Even if he was no SGM would appear in uniform that ate up period. Also if he is "all that" where is his SSI FWTS?

To be fair, they weren't at the funeral...they were in the parking lot. And actually moved the conversation away at one point.
Agreed. I mean if they are trashy enough to wear shorts and a t-shirt to a funeral they are probably trashy enough to start shite at the funeral so I was impressed they they waited to get to the parking lot. That fake marine is the biggest trash though.

guardians of valor
Cornelius Davis
Cornelius Davis

NY Daily News story
The Army confirmed the way Davis wore the uniform does not make sense, WPTV reported. Some of the medals are positioned incorrectly.
The Army said a Cornelius Davis hasn't served in the Army since 1999 — but in the video, Davis claimed he "just got home."
Dressing in a military uniform is not a crime, the Army said.
Still, online commenters are furious with the allegedly fake sergeant.
"What a slap in the face to every soldier," one commenter wrote.
"I can't stand or even understand why people do this! The 2 real vets should have had the right to rip his uniform off," another said.

I disagree, but we've gone over this ad nauseam.

I've attended numerous LAARNG Enlisted Conferences over the last 10+ years. You wouldn't believe what I've seen on the CSMs that were promoted in the "good ole boy" network.
