Married OTers: Do you have a joint bank account with your spouse?

I don't know if I'd want to join accounts. It seems to encourage this generation's female idea that "My money is my money, and your money is our money."

if you can't trust them with money.....how can you marry them?

Yep....if you can't trust her/him with the money, why are you getting married?
Posted on 7/17/14 at 2:18 pm to 337Tiger19
Yes. Why wouldn't we? We're married.

Was supposed to but never did get around to doing it. We still have separate accounts. As long as the bills get paid every month neither one of us worries about the other's account. It deffinitely cuts down on fighting about money.
ETA: for the record, we both have access to each others accounts. I can write checks, use a card, and transfer money from her account and vice versa.

If you don't trust her enough to let her have access to your money WTH did you marry her? Just saying. When you trust someone, it's supposed to be absolute or you're just inviting problems.

How would a joint account encourage my money is my money? That literally makes no sense.
Joint account here.

Yes, everything is spent out of the same checking. It isn't complicated if you marry a fiscally responsible person.
