Why do gym guys remove their body hair?

I was feeling hairy, then I saw that pic and feel better.
I never got trimming arm hair. I always thought that was strange to see stubble on an arm, but it's very common.

I think it's overkill for regular people but if you're doing competitions it's a necessity.

I shave my arms with an electric razor. Have for 2 decades. I may be one of the least hairy people you would meet. Only other person I know less hairy is this Russian girl I used to date. Girl seriously just didn't grow body hair. 'Twas weird as shite but awesome. My hair is blonde and not bulky but jt sticks straight up that's why I hit it with the elec raz...
