You'd think it's the onion, sadly, it's not.

The report says North Korea’s brave side crushed Japan 7-0, USA 4-0 and China 2-0 in the group stages, before going on to reach the final… against Portugal.

Love how they showed people cheering for Kim.
So pathetic

I can't even be mad at that, it seems like it took an astounding amount of work

How that government has managed to keep an entire country so brainwashed and ill-informed for all these years is beyond me. You would think there would have been some kind of uprising from the people at some point.

I like how 3 asian teams were drew into a group with 1 CONCACAF team.
Totally legit.
Totally legit.

Is there a North Korean sports book where I can bet on this game? I have a strong feeling North Korea will win.

I truly wonder what percentage of the North Korean people think this is real and what percentage of the NK people know it's fake but just act like it's real. I'm honestly not sure.

Don't really know. I have to admit though, the things I hear out of Best Korea are both disturbing and fascinating. It's like a real-life "1984."

It really is amazing to have a parallel universe exist on our planet.

There was a documentary a while back where an ophthalmologist went there and healed some people, immediately after being healed they immediately went to Kim's dad's poster and started bowing down saying he's the one who made it happened. They might have been putting on a show but that was truly sad/hilarious

Obviously, the entire national team and every involved in the North Korean soccer federation knows it's not true. And the entire government/video broadcast team knows it's not true. You'd think even a few of those people would leak it to others, and then it'd spread... I just don't see how the ENTIRE public actually thinks that's real. Maybe they act like it's real to avoid persecution. I'm sure some think it's legitimate, of course. I just wish there was some way to know the percentages, though that's obviously not possible.

Just remember, people got in trouble for not being sad enough when Kim Jong-Il died. I'm sure there are a good number of the public who know the truth, but they have to be great actors for their own sake.

Makes sense. It would just be easier for North Korea to say that the World Cup was cancelled because their national team didn't qualify. Then just not show any matches.
