I can't stand Tempur-Pedic mattresses. They're wayyy to soft and I wind up waking up with more back pain than I had before. Not to mention they're hot and make you sweat like testicles riding in the Tour de France. They're also ridiculously expensive.

ETA: God forbid you ever have to move the fricking thing, they weigh a ton.

I wanted to try that place out, but the SO wasn't having it. I did buy a Tuft and Needle mattress about a month ago and it has been awesome. Paid $600 for it.

Go talk to the guy on Florida Blvd just east of Flannery. The place is a dump but the mattresses they make are legit.

This, I have bought three in the last 30 years from him.

never been dissapointed.

Ask for the top of the line - and ask to talk to the old man

THIS!!!!

I bought a latex mattress from IKEA about a year ago; love it! IKEA was the only store that had multiple models that you could lay on before you buy.

There is a place down the road from me in Pelham, AL that custom makes there own latex beds. After a long search we stopped in there and there is no comparison.

Expensive but worth every penny.

This x1000. I'm about to go to sleep on mine. This thread pops up on here once a month and it's the same crap, people trying to justify spending 5 grand for a mattress by making other people spend that much. Go to the shite hole down Florida, feel like your buying an underaged hooker, wait a couple of days for your mattress to be made in the old Home Depot building, go home and sleep on it happy knowing you didn't get corn holed by some salesman and marketing gimmicks. And if you want to know more than you ever wanted to know about mattresses, strike up a conversation with the old man while he's tying it down in your truck for you. That place is a hidden gem in Baton Rouge. I'm just glad I saw one of these monthly mattress threads on here and someone was helpful enough to suggest them. I want to say I spent $1200 on the best king they make. Took 4 of us to carry that heavy bitch in the house. They are LEGIT!

lol...I have the queen (will probably be getting a King soon) and that's a heavy bitch.

The old man knows his shite. He gave me a tour of the factory and a history lesson on mattress making and a breakdown on the costs associated with the name brands. Essentially, you're paying the marketing costs and that's pretty much it.

Despite the place being in the ghetto, it was much better than some minimum wager pushing a $5,000 mattress they don't know shite about.

Mattress shopping is more stressful and difficult than home shopping. :toystorygif:
