Used to work at a mattress place in my undergrad years. We sold Sealy and Sterns and Foster as well as a few other cheap brands I can't recall. Most companies make a pretty good bed; they can also make very shitty beds too. I saw lots of people spend big money on a mattress and box spring and put it on a shitty foundation. Beds sag because you don't have the proper support under them....usually voids your warranty too. The mattress companies intentionally mind frick the customers by changing the names of the beds from store to store (even though they are the same bed). It helps to keep you from comparison shopping. They want you to be confused. Side sleeper? Go with something softer. Back sleeper? Get a firmer mattress. Also get some decent pillows while you' re at it.

I've had a sleep innovations mattress for 3 years now. Keep in mind, I have the older version and the new ones may be completely different. But I'm planning on buying another one as soon as we move to San Francisco and have more space for a bigger bed. I love it. It's a bit on the firm side. And I can get hot a little bit, but I'm planning on buying a cooling pad soon. At that point it'll be perfect. Excellent quality for such a tiny price.

Please do. I'm considering this one. It's literally 1600 dollars cheaper than the I comfort prodigy.

The main thing I have found in my research is that apparently Tempurpedic lasts about twice as long as almost any other, but they also are the hottest to sleep on and typically cost 3 to 5 times more. The average Tempurpedic price is like $3500

That's what I seem to find to. I see as long as 7 years on the Sleep Innovation and then 12 or so on the Tempurpedic. Fortunately, though, you can replace the SI one much more frequently and still come out cheaper in the long run. And I'm willing to bet that it's still a formidable guest bed after it's had its tenure as my main mattress.

This x1000. I'm about to go to sleep on mine. This thread pops up on here once a month and it's the same crap, people trying to justify spending 5 grand for a mattress by making other people spend that much. Go to the shite hole down Florida, feel like your buying an underaged hooker, wait a couple of days for your mattress to be made in the old Home Depot building, go home and sleep on it happy knowing you didn't get corn holed by some salesman and marketing gimmicks. And if you want to know more than you ever wanted to know about mattresses, strike up a conversation with the old man while he's tying it down in your truck for you. That place is a hidden gem in Baton Rouge. I'm just glad I saw one of these monthly mattress threads on here and someone was helpful enough to suggest them. I want to say I spent $1200 on the best king they make. Took 4 of us to carry that heavy bitch in the house. They are LEGIT!
