Anyone have any ideas? I'm hoping not a cottonmouth. Outdoor board is dead so I'm hoping someone here might be able to tell me...
UPDATE: Just dropped my dog off at the vet. Going to treat with steroids, antibiotics, antihistamine, and run an IV for fluids until I get there to pick him up in the morning. Then off to my regular vet. The original price quoted when I initially saw the Vet was almost $1500. Final price for the above treatment was $418. Hoping to get a good report when I go pick him up...in three hours. Thanks for all the info, I appreciate it.

Water moccasin. Those jaws look like they belong to a poisonous snake, but it's hard to tell because you fricked him up.

Kinda looks like a water moccasin/cottonmouth.
The inside of the mouth is usually a huge give away.
ETA: Just saw the post about your dog. I'd bring him up to the vet right away. You can always ask for a payment plan or something.
Their venom is hemotoxic, meaning it will start to attack blood cells and tissues. Blood would then not be able to clot.
Best of luck with your dog.
Bring him up there right away or at least call them and tell them you're almost certain a water moccasin bit him. See what their advice is.

I grew up in the Appalachians and you usually do doing for those. The venom shouldn't be deadly for a 130# dog. But I'm no vet

Change title to paging OT vets, not military type
You should call your local vet

Kinda looks like cotton mouth but can't tell b/c you messed him up. Also look like banded water snake.
Saw your OB post
Monitor your dog closely. If he was bitten by a poisonous snake (esp in the neck/face area) he needs to be seen immediately! Do not give benadryl or anything like that b/c it won't help. The swelling from snake bites is not due to same things as allergic reactions.
Cotton mouth bites aren't as bad as rattle snake bites but they're certainly worse than copperhead bites.
You'll know pretty quickly if it were poisonous -- he will be swelling up big time wherever he was bitten. If it wasn't a poisonous snake but it did bite him anyway I woudl still have him seen by a vet but POSSIBLY coudl wait til tomorrow. He'll need antibiotics for the bite wound or it will get infected.

The only good GDCK is an mostly unidentifiable mutilated post-respirating GDCK.
I hope he/she suffered. (The reptile)

Bit on foot...definitely swelling. Killed it with a shovel and was trying to get the dog away from it from the same time, with out getting bit myself. That picture is the result.
