ETA It clearly violates a flag treatment code, but it´s also patriotic.

Not a big fan, but doesn't bother me too much.

I don't like flag stuff done poorly. Flag boxers, those chubbies, etc. But wearing the flag is probably something I wouldn't do, but as long as it is celebratory, I'll live.

Not a fan of that ... however, it would way, way down on the list of things that are pissing me off right now.

The Flag should not touch the ground or be dragged on the ground.

Context is important. It's meant to be patriotic, not disrespectful. In any case, no one these days burns a flag just because it touched the ground. So if we want to be consistent on "flag code" that's the way to go.

With all of these flag rules, one might think that the US Government would ban the importation of foreign made American flags and mandate domestic production of these sacred threads.

Doesn't bother me at all, but I also consider it just a piece of cloth. I don't care about the flag rules or what're they call it.

Yes, you're right.

The Flags should be made in America by Americans.

How many times are you going to start this thread? And on how many boards?

Like most Marines, you are just trying to find a way to tell everyone you were a Marine.

My roommate is a veteran who I've seen wear a flag cape. I'll be sure to tell him the marines don't approve.

As long as they don't get pissed and throw it to the ground after a loss or something I don't see the issue.

The physical flag has no value, the value is in what the flag represents. They are in their own way supporting that representation. Should be a non issue for someone who isn't just looking for things to find disrespectful.

The most patriotic thing you can do is burn a flag.

Do me a favor and make sure you are wearing it as a cape when you do that.

Lol. The fact you can burn a symbol of the country and not be thrown in jail, sued, or other wise harmed by your government says more than any arrangement of colored threads can.
