If the Pels ship off Rivers and non guaranteed contracts, and keep Ryno, do they still have the MLE to sign a SF?
If they make the Asik trade a 3 way then yes.

MEM: They have koufos/ed davis who are quality bigs but not world beaters.
Minny has dieung who was very good when he got minutes.
Indy has Dwest/hibbert/scola?
ATL has millsap/Horford but meh depth
WSH has Gortat/Nene/Some quality bigs
CHI has Boozer/Noah/Gibson but boozer has fallen off

I can see how this is obviously the better scenario for the Pels, then. Especially if they can grab a decent SF with the MLE.

Max offer on a MLE for the Pels would be about 4 years and 22 mil or so?

Yes but from what I've gathered (someone either confirm or deny) we lose the MLE with the Asik trade unless we involve a 3rd party

He was top 10 in catch in shoot 3 percentage
super small sample size
he took lass than 100 threes

He looked much better at finishing
45% at the rim on almost 300 shots
not a good shooter by any statistical measure

Which we will. Whether you like or hate his moves, one thing you can't deny about Demps is he does a very good job of getting creative with cap manipulation.

I can imagine that working with Loomis will help this cause, too. That guy's a wizard.

The @PelicansNBA trade to bring Omer Asik to Nola is 95% done deal. A few remaining details should be sorted through by end of today.

Mind blowing stat coming. You ready? Amongst regular players who took as many catch-and-shoot threes as Rivers or more......
only Kyle Korver, Lebron James, and Stephen Curry shot a higher percentage.
That stat is a little nugget from my @AustinRivers25 Season in Review piece coming next week. Is your mind blown?
Again, to recap. Amongst guys w/ 60 or more catch and shoot 3-pt attempts, the order goes: Korver, Lebron, Steph Curry, @AustinRivers25

In April, when Austin averaged 30 minutes a game, often playing against NBA starters, he had arguably his best month. He recorded his highest amount of assists while keeping the turnovers to a minimum, good for 2.47 ast/to ratio. He made 9 of 15 from beyond the arc, but more importantly, started taking and making midrange jumpers. From beyond 16 feet, he made 12 of his 24 attempts. And most impressively, his defensive rebounding numbers jumped to a sparkling 19.2%. According to the game logs, it was as though Rivers made it his personal mission to pick up the slack without Anthony Davis. Among the regular rotation over the final five games, Austin recorded the second highest defensive rebounding percentage (21.8%).

You must not have been paying attention to him in the 2nd half then when he got meaningful minutes.
He's a more complete player than roberts( ) who was below average starting.

Protection?
3rd team?
Posted on 6/26/14 at 10:35 am to Fun Bunch
Probably both of those things.

no question
but we arent talking about roberts we are talking about rivers. nobody is trading anything for roberts even if he was signed
im not saying rivers has zero value to anyone, i'm saying of the 3 tradeable assets we have he is the one we can most easily move, and the one that we will miss the least

That 5% is what worries me
Please Dell keep Ryno and Jrue and Reke, work your magic to clear space without giving up one of those guys...give up EG we hate him
