Do we legitimately have a chance to beat Germany?

I just get the feeling that our best possible result after the deflating tie in horrible conditions, on short rest would be a draw with Germany, with a one goal loss being the most probable result. Someone give me some confidence....

Instead of thinking of it as a soccer match ... refer to it as "war."
This should give you more confidence.

We have a hell of a chance to draw them 0-0
I think we loose 2-1, but i have a feeling that portugal is going to beat ghana by 1 or 2 goals

If we lose it will only be by 1 goal. I think we draw 1-1. I think Germany scores an early goal and then plays possession and doesn't try to attack anymore...allowing us to pressure and score

Of course we have a chance, but about the same chance as Ole Miss beating Florida St. in football last year. They could've done it, but FSU was clearly the better team.
Luckily, a tie is all we need and much more feasible.
Our chances of advancing are good, but I still have little confidence. Mostly because Ghana is prominently involved and they are our kryptonite. If we lose to Germany and Ghana beats Portugal by enough to emerge, it may be enough to warrant bombing them. That would be 3 WCs in a row they've eliminated us in varying scenarios. Would merit some laser-guided deliveries of freedom IMO.

Why don't we just get David Hasselhoff to stand on our sideline to distract them ?

Maybe a bit harsh. More like Florida vs Florida St. last year. It could happen, but it also could go the other way by a lot.

It is a horrible analogy.
It directly implies that USMNT sucks shite perenially and are nothing more than a punchline for most of the civilized world.

That was a "friendly"....just a bit different than a World Cup group stage game with EVERYTHING on the line !

I mean we also lost to Spain in a friendly like 5-0, but beat them 2-0 in the Confederations Cup. They're a terrible metric for determining success, but you can scour some things from them.

of course we can beat Germany, id say
20% for the win
30% for the loss
50% for the draw
20% for the win
30% for the loss
50% for the draw

I have many German friends. None of them like David Hasselhoff. I asked them if many Germans love Hasselhoff. They said no.
I have no idea where this stereotype about The Hoff being a idol in Germany originated.
I'm legitimately intrigued about this strange misguided stereotype.

I would NOT bet against "Die Mannschaft", in a major tournament, with advancement to the last 16, on the line.

You know Germany doesn't have to win to advance, right?
