Me again! How is MKT 701 with Khan? I may change and take the same two classes you are this term? Has it been a real pain?
I don't mind it at all. We've had 3 exams so far and received a slight curve on 2 of them. Lots of reading. Pay attention to the lectures. Manageable with another class.

Anybody completing their 10 courses in Summer AP1?
just changed my program objective and i will be completing my courses in Summer AP1?
Is there anything we need to do now? or in SP AP2?

Ginn,
I cannot comment on Kendall for 701. I had Vines. I really enjoyed Vines.
You really have me thinking of doubling up with Acct in AP2 now. Decisions....

Nothing to do now. There are two forms you need to fill out to graduate. One for the registrar and one for the program.
Watch here for the Registrar form:
Registrar Forms
The program's graduation checklist form is on Moodle in the MBA Program section. It's over by the program change request form and called a Degree Checkout Request. Right now only the spring section is up.

Could you tell me which book Khan is using for this class?? I take it in the next session with him and I would really like to get a head start on the reading or ordering the book if i can.

IMO Yin's ACCT 701 is very manageable with another class. Now I have to decide about pairing marketing 701 with Khan. Nothing's ever easy lol.

I am taking first-time teacher Khan and I like it. Pretty easy halfway through the term.

Anyone know anything about Lynn Kendall for Finance 701? The professor is listed as teaching FIN701 in AP2

This might be the first legitimate recommendation for *any* MKT 701 teacher. M. Darrat wasn't ever recommended by anyone for being "good", just for being "not as terrible" as the other options.

I am enrolled in MKT 701 with Khan and ISDS 730 with Loughrin for my first semester in the MBA program. Does anyone have a copy of an old syllabus they'd be willing to share? Advice is also welcome!

Anyone else take McLaughlin's MADM 701 Module 4 exam this week? I feel like it was similar to last week's issue where there were questions not covered in the text.

Oh I agree, Question 17 had an issue with it, and 19 & 20 I recall not knowing. or remember reading about.
I do not like the way she is wording these questions.

Question numbers don't mean anything since she uses a question bank.
She's also intentionally tricky with the wording of questions because she wants students to "apply" the knowledge. I also do not like it as I am not sure creating your own new terminology for things in an effort to force students to "make the connection" between different wording is necessarily the best way to push the application of knowledge. I always thought that was what the current event assignment was for. This was an issue in her MADM 760 class, but there was a LOT less material to cover compared to 701. The sheer volume of detailed data in 701 greatly increases the difficulty level of the tests and exacerbates this quirk.

So, did you feel like there were questions not covered as well? I know for sure there was at least one not in the text.

No more than reading 2 chapters per week (this week, it's only one). Watch a lecture per chapter. Will have either an activity (usually 3 questions), a case study (a little more in-depth), or nothing - just depends on the week and material covered. The case study was supposed to be group, but he changed it to individual work so no group work at all (bonus).
So far 2 of the 4 exams had curves. The exams can be tricky. However with that said - it's not tricky as he is trying to trip you up - he wants to make sure that you can apply theory to scenario. Multiple choice questions (5 to choose from) and T/F.
I find him pretty fair and glad that I opted for him. I would take other classes with him if he offered any more.
